Purpose:Latin dance, a faction of sports dance, constitutes the system of sports dance together with modern dance. Fivekinds of dance are included in Latin dance, respectively rumba, cha-cha, cowboy, samba and bullfighting. The currentstudy in the field of Latin dance mostly stays in the simple research of its status. However, to other projects,especially aerobics and rhythmic gymnastics, which show the same attribute of difficulty and beauty, the research ondifferent levels of athletes’ body shape, physical quality and physiological function has come to mature. However, itis lack of systematic study of the characteristics of physical capacities of the Latin athletes, especially of the excellentLatin athletes. Based on this, both the measuring method and mathematical statistics method are used to measure andanalyze different levels of Latin athletes’ body index in Gan Nan Normal University in this paper, explore thepersonalized characteristics of different levels of athletes’ body shape, physical quality and physiological functiondifferences. Reveal the influence factors of physical performance for the Latin dance athletes, in order to establishindex system of scientific selection of Latin dance athletes, perfect the evaluation standards, and to provide thetheoretical and practical support of promoting and developing the college Latin dance exercise.Method:This paper adopts32Latin athletes of different levels and16common major college students as its researchobjects, and divides them into outstanding achievements group, ordinary group and control group. This paper mainlyadopts the method of measurement, method of literature and mathematical statistics methods. Measurement mainlytests the body shape index, physical quality index, and physical function index on the measurement object.Comparative analysis is made on each index of each group.Results:Compare the outstanding achievements group with the ordinary group, in the former group, the female Latindance athletes height, has the significance difference(p<0.05). Among them the significant can not be found inweight, bust, waist and waist-to-hip ratio(p>0.05). About flexible quality, vertical fork, cross fork, bridge, shoulderhigh flexibility difference is not significant (p>0.05);Physical quality, speed, agility, strength, balance, staminaquality difference were not significant (p>0.05);Body composition, muscle mass, skeletal muscle, bone, right upperlimb muscles, right lower limb muscles, the left leg muscle, trunk muscle have significant differences (p <0.05),body fat percentage, left upper limb muscle difference was not significant (p>0.05); Functional aspects, Harvardindex difference was not significant (p>0.05). In male Latin dance athletes’ body shape index, height has significantdifference (p <0.05), body weight, chest circumference, waist, hip circumference, waist-to-hip ratio difference werenot significant (p>0.05), the significant difference can not be found in weight, bust, waist and waist-to-hip ratio(p>0.05); About flexible quality, vertical fork, cross fork, bridge, shoulder high flexibility difference is significant(p <0.05);Left fork shaft, right vertical fork has no significant (p>0.05); Physical quality, speed quality difference isvery significant(p<0.01), while agility, endurance, balance difference was not significant (p>0.05); in body composition, muscle and the left leg muscle have significant differences (p <0.05), skeletal muscle, body fatpercentage, right upper limb muscle, bone, the right lower limb muscle, left upper limb muscles, trunk muscledifference was not significant (p>0.05);Functional aspects, Harvard index has very significant difference (p <0.01).Compared to control group, in female Latin dancers’ index of the body shape, height has very significantdifference (p <0.01), body weight, waist-to-hip ratio difference is significant (p <0.05), chest circumference, waist,hip circumference difference was not significant (p>0.05);Flexible quality, the high bridge has very significantdifference (p <0.01), vertical fork, cross fork, shoulder flexibility difference is not significant (p>0.05);Fitness,endurance is very significant difference (p <0.01), the sensitive quality shows significant difference (p <0.05), speed,strength, balance, such as the quality difference was not significant (p>0.05);Body composition, muscle mass,skeletal muscle, bone, right upper limb muscles, right lower limb muscles, left upper limb muscles, the left legmuscle, trunk muscle has very significant difference (p <0.01), body fat percentage did not show significantdifference (p>0.05); in Functional aspect, Harvard index has no significant difference (p <0.05).Conclusion:1. In Latin dance movement, no matter for male or female athletes, the height will affect the results, too high or toolow is not good, a range of height is the foundation of getting good grades; overly big hip is also an important reasonfor restricting athletes to achieve excellent results.2.In Latin dance movement, male athletes need to have better speed-strength, agility, endurance, speed and otherphysical fitness, female athletes, in addition to acquiring the qualities that male athletes have, like the strength,agility, endurance, speed and so on, also need to have good balance.In addition, the Latin dance exercise does good to flexibility to a certain degree, but different from the view of thepast, the study find that flexibility has little influence on the performance of Latin dance.3. High levels of body fat and lower muscle content do not become factors to limit Latin athletes to get good grades.4. Heart-blood function rtant factor for Latin female athletes, but has little effect on male.
