In the years2011, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Finance released <Thesuggestions on the regular college course teaching quality and reforming project of highercolleges during the “twelfth five-year”>, in which “the teachers’ teaching ability” becameone of the five construction contents of “program of regular college course teaching”. In theneed of higher education’s change from expand in amount to development of connotation, thedevelopment of teachers’ teaching ability is the inevitable requirement of the information eraand knowledge era, which is also the major guarantee strategy to the quality of highereducation. In addition, teachers’ teaching ability has the most direct and the biggest influencein the teaching quality. As a result, the deeper research on the development mechanism ofteachers’ teaching ability possesses the further theoretical significance and practice guidingsignificance.On the basis of the analysis of domestic and foreign literatures, this study summarizedthe connotation of teachers’ teaching ability, extracted the structure elements of collegeteachers’ teaching ability, utilized open coding to form hierarchical relation of category andelements, utilized the principal axis coding to form the main categories of model, built thestructure model of college teachers’ teaching ability TCSM, enriched the teachers’professional development theory. Based on the structure model of teachers’ teaching abilityTCSM, combined with the main way and enlightenment of American college teachers’teaching ability development, to explore teachers’ teaching ability development mechanism inChinese college, and studying two cases that the teachers’ teaching development center andinformation technology promote the teachers’ teaching ability development, to providemechanisms for the development of college teachers’ teaching ability in practice.
