The traditional ethnic minority culture is the achievements of civilization createdin the history of ethnic minorities, which is a kind of multifaceted culture reserved ina stable form including innovative concepts and values, moral life and mannerscustoms, habits and religious belief systems. The traditional ethnic minority culture isan important condition for the survival and development of ethnic minorities, and alsothe specific cultural factors differing from other ethnics, generally which includesliving habits, life rituals, folk tradition, religion and the respects for festival culture aswell. Tibetan national minority motto poem is the part of traditional Tibetan culturewhich persuades people to follow the ethical standards and codes of conduct in life,the content concerning with the ethical thinking, moral values, manners, and manyother issues. Therefore the purpose of this paper is how valid heritage of the Tibetannational minority motto poem and to help students improve their quality. Having beenguided by the dialectical materialism and historical materialism, the author havesearched large number of documents and references of previous research worksmaking the comprehensive and detailed analysis for the historical background,content as well as educational value. From the perspective of pedagogy, the authoranalyses Tibetan national minority motto poem practice in school.This paper is divided into five parts. In the first part is an introduction thatdiscusses the significance of the theme, the research methods, and literature review.The second part introduces the practice basis of Tibetan national minority motto Poemand in which the moral resources and moral ideas of Tibetan motto poem. In part three,the author discusses the practice of Tibetan motto poem in the Tibetan Primary Schoolin Xiahe.The author sent the questionnaire of survey for teachers, students and parents,meanwhile interviewed with some of the school leaders, teachers, and religionists.According to the analyzed statistical data and interviews of the survey, the resultshows the practicing status of Tibetan motto poem in Tibetan Primary School.The author tried to find out the reasons. The main problems are:(1) Most people keep supporting attitudes but a few people who have a negative attitude;(2)Theteachers, parents and students know very little about the traditional Tibetan culture;(3)The shortage of teachers;(4)Bilingual teaching difficulties;(5)Lacking of fundingfor education(;6)Single evaluation method(;7)The low level of knowledge of parents.According to the actual situation of Tibetan Primary School, the author makes therecommendations. In the last epilogue, the author points that Tibetan motto poem isan important part of the continual cultural heritage that gives people the lifeexperience and their ancestors’ lessons. Tibetan motto poem should not only beintroduced into Tibetan Primary School but also in Junior school, high school andeven college, so we should actively promote Tibetan motto poem and enhanceprotection of cultural awareness.
