| The aim of the vocational school English teaching is not only to helps students master thebasic knowledge of English but also to cultivate the skills of English using in the real situation.Based on a survey about English learning in a vocational school in Yinzhou District, the papermakes a study on needs analysis,course planning, teaching materials, teaching methods andteaching evaluation to construct a teaching model on the basis of “Job-Orientedâ€. During theteaching, the teacher compiles the teaching materials according students’ learning needs and jobneeds, which can arouse learning interest and motivation. The skills of English using,especiallylistening and speaking skills, can be improved a lot in the real working situation. In the teachingmodel, students will master the English knowledge which is related their future jobs experientiallearning. At the same time, they will realize the importance of English learning,which is good fortheir career advancement and development.The paper consists of five parts. The first part is the introduction of the paper,including theresearch background,research meaning, research value and techniques. The second part isliterature review, which includes the introduction of EGP and ESP, the application of theory ofconstructivism, pragmatic education and the related teaching models in vocational schools’English teaching. The third part is the teaching practice. This part introduces the whole procedureof constructing the teaching model in details, including course planning, teaching materials,teaching methods and teaching evaluation. A teaching design illustrates how to put the teachingmodel into practice in our real classroom teaching in the fourth part. And the last part,the authordraws a conclusion that the English teaching model on the basis of “Job-Oriented†is helpful tobuild up students’ interest and motivation. What’s more, when students have motivation to learn,usually they learn positively and actively with purpose or goals in learning. From the other hand,the teacher will improve his teaching strategies,teaching materials and the teaching notion ofstudents as the Centre will be achieved in English teaching. |
