The English course teaching program required that the Secondary vocational students should improve the listening, speaking, reading and writing skill in the Secondary vocational school. Basing on the teaching aims and teaching contents, the teachers should organize various, intentional, actual teaching activities for the students, to upgrade their language abilities. Modern educational philosophy considers the student is subject of learning; the teacher can’t pass on the knowledge to the student directly. The students must master the knowledge by themselves, in the way of cooperation and studying.therefore, The English course must meet the need of the society, and the development of the students. Practical teaching method is a better for the teachers. But how to use the Practical teaching method in vocational school English course is a problem.To meet the need of the development of social, the secondary vocational school students should master the skill of using English and the way of learning something new. If they can use English to solve the problem in work, they will be more popular. We teachers must change our teaching ways to make the students know how to learn English correctly. In the meantime, we must try to make the students know how to cooperate with the others.Practical teaching method means that the teachers design a kind of setting for the students to study the knowledge by themselves. The setting is like the reality, and the students take part in the teaching. The aims of practical teaching method are helping the students to gain the practical ability, problem solving ability, innovation ability and learning ability. The practical teaching is practical, subjectivity, autonomy, participation, intuitive. So we can choose the organization, activities, location and time more freely. The students will be the high quality personnel in accordance with the requirements of social development; the practical teaching method is suitable for the English teaching of the secondary vocational school. It shows that the practical teaching method improve the vocational students English effective.
