The Study On College Student’s Meaning Of Life And Mental Healthy

The topic of life is always a field that the human beings would like to research andexplore from the ancient time till now. However, life is short, how to gain the srongestfeelings of the meaning of life in our short life is always a question for humans to think deeply.So the exploring of the meaning of life becomes the orientation of it for the psychologist. Theeconomy and technology developing so fast in nowadays, however, on the contrary side,people’s spiritual world can not keep pace with the highly-developed materialistic society.The university stage is a key time for the forming of philosophy, weltanschauung and values,so it’s really a important period during the growing of the teenagers. It is significantmeaningful to know how to guide the undergraduate to correct know the nature life, persuethe valuable life, improve the life quality and establish right, positive view of life because thecollege students are under pressure of study, unsoundness of mind and vulnerable to setbacksat present. At the same time, explore and study the relationship between the meaning of lifeand psychological health is very important to understand the reasons for the lack of a sense ofmeaning in life and to carry out effectively education about the meaning of life. The study ofthe result of the survey about the meaning of life and mental health status of nearly300students of the Southwest University of Political Science and Law show that:(1)the sense ofthe meaning of life is very clear for the student of the Southwest University of PoliticalScience and Law (2) Difference of the sense of the meaning of life for the students of theSouthwest University of Political Science and Law doesn’t exist according to difference ofsex and residentialland.(3)the Junior students hold the highest sense of the meaning of life,followed by the freshmen, and lowest the sophomore. The factor of good family economicconditions, optimistic attitude towards job prospects, appropriate interpersonal relationship,moderate learning pressure and the matchable between parents expectations and their ownability can have a benificial effect on the sense of the meaning life.(4) as a whole, thestudents of the Southwest University of Political Science and Law are healthy inpsychological conditions, but there are gender differences in the horror which shows girls areeasier to fear than boys. differences happens in obsessive-compulsive disorder andinterpersonal sensitivity because of the different family economic conditions which shows onthe more obvious obsessive-compulsive and interpersonal sensitivity symptoms of the students in good family economic conditions. The study presure can impact on hostility,interpersonal sensitivity, paranoia, fear and anxiety, which shows on the obvious symptoms inthese respects of the students under high study pressure.(5) The sense of the students of theSouthwest University of Political Science and Law is highly related to mental heal. Lifeattitude, life goals, life value, independent living and the total scale score of the meaning oflife showed a significant negative related on the factors of somatization,obsessive-compulsive symptoms, interpersonal sensitivity, depression, etc. These symptomsare more unobvious, the higher the sense of the meaning of life. According to the abovesurvey results, the following recommendations raised about how to improve the sense of themeaning of life and the level of mental health of the college students:(1) to strengthen theeducation of the sense of the meaning of life.(2) to strengthen the employment psychologicalguidance.(3)to emphasis on the counseling on interpersonal relationships.(4)to learn to adaptand alleviate the self-pressure.(5) to emphasis the important role of the family in the trainingof sense of meaning life and enhancing of mental health level.
