Life education takes the numenon of life as the object,and points to the growth and development of people’s inner life.It is the proper meaning of moral education.In recent years,college students’ psychological problems and the extreme behavior of ignoring life appear frequently.It is urgent to strengthen the educational exploration of enhancing the sense of life meaning,help students to clarify the meaning of life and establish a correct outlook on life and values in contemporary school education.At present,mental health education course has become a compulsory course for college students.Using mental health education course to carry out targeted thematic education can use corresponding education methods to cultivate students’ good psychological quality around specific themes.In addition,in the relevant research on the influencing factors of the sense of life meaning,it is found that emotion regulation ability and forgiveness have a prominent impact on students’ sense of life meaning.However,there is a lack of research on the design of thematic psychology course,focusing on the emotion regulation ability and forgiveness,so as to improve the sense of life meaning of college students.Therefore,the purpose of this study is to design and implement the thematic psychological course around emotion regulation ability and forgiveness,and to explore the educational effect of improving college students’ sense of life meaning based on thematic psychological course.In this study,we first used the emotion regulation ability questionnaire,forgiveness scale and sense of life scale as the tools to investigate.A total of 508 questionnaires were distributed,and 494 valid questionnaires were recovered,with a recovery rate of 97.2%.Through the data,we measured the current level of college students’ emotion regulation ability,forgiveness and sense of life,and the influence of emotion regulation ability and forgiveness on the sense of life meaning.On this basis,the teaching scheme of this thematic psychological course is designed around emotion regulation ability and forgiveness psychology.By using the research method of education quasi-experiment,the experimental class and the control class are selected in Northwest Minzu University,and the students in the experimental class are given curriculum and interviewed.The results are analyzed by quantitative and qualitative evaluation methods to explore the educational effect of improving college students’ sense of life meaning based on the thematic psychological course.Combined with all the research contents,this paper summarizes the educational suggestions to enhance the sense of life meaning of college students.Finally,the main conclusions of this study are summarized as follows:1.The emotion regulation ability,forgiveness and sense of meaning of life of college students are in the middle level on the whole.There is no significant difference in emotion regulation ability,forgiveness and sense of life meaning between the two genders.Students with different majors and grades have significant differences in emotional regulation ability and sense of life meaning.The sense of life meaning of junior students is lower than that of other grades.2.College students’ emotional regulation ability and forgiveness can positively predict the sense of life meaning(β=0.502,P < 0.01;β=0.431,P<0.01).Based on the influence of emotion regulation ability and forgiveness on the sense of life meaning,the scheme of thematic psychological course is designed.3.The scheme of thematic psychological course includes seven thematic courses:awareness of emotions,clear need,emotional acceptance,changing perspective,appropriate expression,making good use of emotions,and summarizing feedback.4.In the evaluation of thematic psychology course,the quantitative evaluation shows that the post-test scores of the students’ sense of life meaning in the experimental class are significantly higher than the pre-test scores(P < 0.05).The pre-test scores and the post-test scores of the students in the control class have no significant difference(P > 0.05).The post-test scores of the students in the experimental class were significantly higher than those in the control class(P < 0.05).Qualitative evaluation data show that most students can understand themselves better,establish a good attitude towards life and face their own life more positively.Comprehensive evaluation shows that the thematic course has a certain practical value.5.Combined with the content and results of this study,this paper puts forward relevant suggestions to enhance the sense of life meaning from the aspects of school education,teachers’ teaching and students’ development.Comprehensive analysis shows that the thematic psychological course designed around emotion regulation ability and forgiveness in this study can significantly enhance college students’ sense of life meaning,which provides empirical evidence and practice support for the future life education and mental health education in schools.
