Study On The Improvement Of College Students' Sense Of Life Meaning

The sense of life meaning is the individual's awareness and evaluation of the meaning of self-life,including the perception and feelings of life attitude,life goal,life autonomy and life value,which belong to the spiritual level.With the increasing level of material,people's spiritual needs are getting stronger and stronger.The satisfaction of spiritual needs has gradually become a key factor influencing people to achieve a better life.As a meaningful existence,human beings pursue the value of life and cannot tolerate the "meaninglessness" of life.The phenomenon of“boring”“emptiness”“anxiety”and even contempt and abandonment of life in the contemporary college student group is a manifestation of the lack of sense of life meaning.How to improve the sense of life meaning of college students and ensure their quality of life is not only related to their own development,but also to the happiness of their families and the harmony of society.Therefore,it is of great practical significance to study the improvement of sense of life meaning of college students.Firstly,the article sorts out the relevant research literature,clarifies the related concepts of sense of life meaning,and draws on the theory to lay a theoretical foundation for the research.The article focuses on a questionnaire survey of 1185 college students with a sense of life meaning by using Purpose in Life Test,to understand the status quo of college students' sense of life meaning.The average score of college students' sense of life meaning surveyed is 95.83,which is generally low.(The total score of the scale is 20-140 points,and the score below 92 is obviously lack of sense of life meaning.)42% of college students are obviously lack of sense of life meaning,and 39% of college students have unclear sense of life meaning.Specifically,there are differences in the sense of life meaning of college students of different genders.Boys' sense of life meaning is higher than that of girls.The sense of life meaning of seniors are generally higher than other grades.For the sense of life meaning of college students in different grades,there are significantly differences on the life goals,life value dimensions and the total scores.In the life value dimension and the total scores,there is a significant difference in the sense of life meaning of college students of different majors.The sense of life meaning of Science and Engineering college students is higher than that of Humanities and Social Sciences students.In life value,life autonomy and the total scores,there are significant differences in the sense of life meaning of different college students.The sense of life meaning of college students in 985 and 211 is higher than that of other types of college students.College students with a very harmonious family atmosphere,very good parent-child relationship,and authoritative parenting styles have a higher sense of life meaning.The random interview content of the college students group confirmed the results of the questionnaire to some extent.Through the comparison of survey data and interview texts,this paper summarizes the reasons for the low sense of life meaning of college students.College students' cognitive ability is imperfect.The family life education is insufficient.The humanities education of the colleges and universities needs to be highlighted.Partial non-mainstream media's life value orientation isn't completely positive.Based on the theory of sense of life meaning,combined with the research results,this paper puts forward suggestions on how to improve the sense of life meaning of college students from four aspects: individual,family,university and media.College students form correct life cognition,establish firm life belief,and taste positive life experience.The family establishes a harmonious family atmosphere,provides a reasonable education method and conduct a positive life dialogue with each other.Colleges and universities strengthen the construction of life education curriculum and enrich the form of life education activities.The media adheres to the positive life value guidance and set a positive example of life.It is hoped that through these measures,college students will become socialist builders who are physically and mentally healthy and comprehensively developed.
