| Modern education proposed new requirement for school physical education that it should take the "health first" guiding ideology, target at the overall health of physical, psychological and social adaptation, and help students form the life long physical activity habits. With the implementation of quality education and new curriculum standards, there have been a variety of extracurricular sports activities in the form of sunlight sports activities and sports associations in secondary schools. But judging from the current situation, some schools are relatively highlighting the teaching of physical education and health, while other extra-curricular sports activities have appeared to lack of appropriate organizational management and proper guidance. To a certain extent, it has played down the interest of high school students to do exercise, thus affecting the high school students’ overall development in social adaptation and mental health and other aspects of the process. And it has also restricts the sustainable development of high school physical education.This article has conducted the research on the basis of the current situation of20sports associations in some secondary schools in Jianghan District, Wuhan. Systematic and in-depth analysis has been made through documents, questionnaire, interview and statistics.The findings suggest that the Sports Associations in Jianghan District are generously developing vigorously under the pattern of "school leaders-Sports Team-sports associations". Primitive internal management mechanism for associations has been initially established, but not standardized enough yet. The general development of sports associations calls for brand awareness and the activities are far from being satisfying for lack of innovation. The financial support, which is supposed to ensure the development of the associations, turns out to be onefold in terms of the source, leaving the actual practice of the activities uninsured for lack of facilities. And students find it difficult to be wholeheartedly devoted to the activities as a result of the high-burdened school life. The leading teacher is not giving enough emphasis on the association activities and no suitable evaluation system has been carried out for grading the process.Through a series of interviews and analysis, following suggestions aiming at the sustainable development of sports associations can be put forward:(1) Implement the sustainable development philosophy among leaders, teachers and students and stick to the "health first, people-oriented" guiding ideology.(2) Great attention and concern should be given to sports associations and the management as well as support should be strengthened and improved.(3) Participants should be spontaneous in playing the decisive role of developing the associations in a sustainable way.(4) Teachers should attach great importance to the sports associations and contribute to the sustainable development of the sports community.(5) A complete and professional managing system should be established for supervising and guiding the schools ports associations (6) A multi-dimensional community activities fund should be set up to ensure the sustainable development of communities.(7)Use a variety of approaches and media to strengthen school sports community advocacy, thus to strengthen the social influence of sports associations.(8)Raise the awareness of community brand and continue to maintain the existing specialty societies. Promote the reform of non-specialty societies to seize the opportunity of creating other new societies.(9)Integrate and utilize the facilities and resources to ensure the basic conditions for carrying out the activities of sports associations.(10)Establish appropriate evaluation system and incentive system for sports associations to promote the sustain able development community. |
