Research On The Current Situation And Countermeasures Of The Development Of College Students' Sports Associations In Guangzhou University City

With the strategy of rejuvenating the country through science and education being carried out, the elite education transforming to the mass education, the enrollment of colleges and universities expanding, and the local economic and social development expanding, Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center is coming to an era of rapid development. However, there still exist a few problems during this course. For instance, students need to improve their physical quality urgently. The rapid development of the students' sports associations has provided ways with higher feasibility for dealing with these problems.This paper has conducted full investigation and analysis over the fundamental state, management, personnel,finances, logistics,students' cognition towards sports associations and activities development of the students' sports associations among ten colleges in Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center through methods of literature data, questionnaire survey, expert interview,comparative analysis and mathematical statistics and so on. Here are the main conclusions:(1) The development of the sports associations reflects the characteristics of locality and university. Swimming, badminton, football, basketball and so on are mainstream sports projects.(2) Generally, the sports associations are well run. The management of personnel, finance and goods and materials are getting institutionalized and well-planed gradually, while the sites and sports apparatus are being guaranteed effectively. In particular, those sites, which depend on a certain number of sponsorship, and the college gymnasiums,which are open for free, can hold all training and competitions effectively.(3) Students think highly of the sports associations. Most members are highly satisfied with the their organizational management, the student cadre, financial criterion, guarantee of the sites and sports apparatus, organization of the activities of their own sports associations. And this has become the most important foundation and motivation for the students' sports associations in Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center to maintain sustainable development.(4) There still exit some problems in the development of the sports associations: The sports associations do not have more connections with the sunshine sports and national fitness; Colleges do not have much fix expenses for sports associations to develop; The management criterion and transparency of the finance auditing and revenue expenditure should be further improved; There is a lot more to do in terms of the prevention measures over security risks.Aiming at problems existing in the development of the student sports associations in Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center, the following countermeasures should be put forward:Try to set up more effective connections with the sunshine sports and national fitness. Try to guide students to set up scientific view of sports and health and improve their physical health in order to lay solid foundation for their lifelong sport.Expand the sources of funding, and set up a win-win cooperation system with the sponsors and the gymnasium. Try to take fully advantage of the rapid development of the commercial center in Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center. Make effective combinations between the activity funding and sales, promotion, staff recruitment of the sponsors; Set up a win-win cooperation system with the college gymnasium; Increase the revenue of the gymnasium through training holding by the sports associations to support all kinds of competitions which show the running principles--What is taken from the people is used in the interests of the people.Strengthen financial management and supervision. School funding and the material and money given by the commercial sponsorship should be strictly obeyed two lines--revenues and expenditures. All the revenues and expenditures and the materials should be registered and written in an accounts in the School Finance Department. And according to the annual activities budgets, all expenditures should be applied for reimbursement in an actual costs under the financial management criterion with the aim of eradicating the financial security risks. Meanwhile, all expenditures should be public transparently with the supervision by all members. The standardization of managing the revenues and expenditures should be an important indicators for assessing the performance of the students' sports associations.Strengthen the security measures to prevent risks. All the activities should be held under the guidance and supervision of their instructors. We should also strengthen the sports injury protection, especially the prevention from them, and the sports associations should actively recruit more students majoring in physical education with a good knowledge and experience of injury protection. Strengthen the standardization of exercises and technical motions in order to effectively prevent from the sports injury. We should arrange specific staff to supervise those sports equipment with the security risks to ensure the success of all activities. We should also equip some monitoring devices,like camera, in the activities area, especially the road in school and the open floor of the teaching buildings. In this way, we can supervise all the activities instantly and deal with the problems at once.
