The Analysis Of Influencing Factors Of Differences Sexual Concept Between Urban And Rural Residents In China

As a research field that investigates sexual activities and notions of human being, the sociology of sexuality has been drawing attention from a lot of social scientists and sociologists in particular. In contemporary China, with the rapid development of modern society and economy, science and technology and modern communication technology, a variety of media and the Internet sexual content transmission becomes more and more common and bold, people are exposed to a broader meaning and form of sexual behavior. At the mean while, people’s notion on sexual behaviors has been under great changes. Using the2010CGSS (China general social survey) Data, this study uses descriptive statistics and Ordered Logit model to examine the determinants of people’s notions on different types of sexual behaviors including notions towards premarital sex, extramarital sex, and homosexuality. Moreover, it also explores the differences of notions between urban and rural residents.Results find that chastity view and double standards for male and female behavior tends to fade, but traditional ideas are still women and older population plays a large role, made the two parts of sexuality in a conservative state, are more open and adolescent sexual idea; The better economic conditions regions and cities, the residents of sexual attitudes toward pluralistic, open, also reflect the economic level and further development of the modern media means tolerance of sex role in promoting, affirmation of the social construction of sexual the applicability of the theory to the analysis of the concept of residents in our country. Treat male and female sex education concept plays a different role, make against women chastity one-way required before weakening, strengthened the transverse as the center of gravity of marital quality, more and more attention to the feelings of both sides of husband and wife, emphasizes the important position of emotion in a marriage; Whole urban residents than rural residents more open concept in sex ". Overall sexual attitudes of residents in our country with the development of the society and in the larger changes in the early sex behavior differences to the fair for female sex change, and patriarchy thoughts in men began to weaken, adolescent sex contact of the aged decreases. These changes should also cause us in the way of adolescent sex education ideas and improvement, focus on strengthening morality and legitimacy of sex education, sex with moral and legal control of human desire and sexual behavior, ensure the legitimacy of the rights and interests of sexual behavior.
