China’s National College Entrance Examination system recovered since1977has gone through37years. In the extraordinary37years, it was recognized to be the most reasonable solution to ensure social justice. In today’s knowledge economy era, everyone’s education background has a decisive role both for their career and personal life plan. In this context, people pay too much attention to their children’s academic records. With the fierce social competition and a series of social problems such as the gap between the rich and the poor, students always cannot get rid of the stones to preparing for national college entrance examination. Students of urban low-income families are under great pressures both in life and study. There are great relevance to the national education equity and social harmony to help urban low-income household students solve the difficulties and set up effective strategies to cope with the situation.In this study, the study objects come from a senior high school in Shandong province L city. With the long interview and some other qualitative research methods, the researcher studied the life and study of those low-income families’students in urban areas. The researcher interviewed the students’parents, school teachers, school administers and themselves. Then the researcher collected and analyzed firsthand data, described and analyzed the shortcomings of the existing social support networks. From the perspective of social work, the research put forward professional suggestions to build their new and more rational and effective social support network system.This study found that the existing social support net works have the following problems:informal social support networks are the main part, the formal social support networks are small and weak; relatively instrumental support are more, emotional and spiritual support are not sufficient; support content is single and one-sided; social support network utilization degree is low; lack of professional support. Suggestions from the perspective of social support network theory include:to improve the relevant government policies and institutions; mobilize social forces to participating in the financing work; improve the school support network effects; enhance the ability of family support; enhance themselves’ability.
