Abstract:As children in the proportion of Chinese learner’s growing, the demand for children’s Chinese textbooks also continues to expand. Do these teaching materials, which are designed especially for children really meet the actual situation and the demand of learning? This is an important problem now facing the current children’s Chinese learning. Starting from the law of children’s learning a second language, this paper try to make a comparison between children’s acquisition of second language Chinese and mother tongue Chinese, between children’s acquisition of second language Chinese and adult’s acquisition of second language Chinese as well, to summarize the learner’s age, psychological development, cognitive level and first language acquisition’s influence on learning Chinese as a second language. So that to conclude the features of children’s learning Chinese as a second language. Guided by the basic principles of Chinese textbook compilation, combined my practical experiences and the questionnaire results made in China international school and Serbia elementary school, I will assess the present status of children’s Chinese textbooks, conclude the advantages of teaching material and find out the deficiencies By proposing some ideas of children Chinese textbook compilation, I will try to provide some valuable reference for the international children’s Chinese language teaching.
