The Republican period is a special time of the transition from the old to the new, and is also a turning period from Chinese traditional education to a modern education. Exploring and studying the situation of the Republic of primary school language textbooks on Chinese language teaching materials, especially in the construction and development of primary school language teaching has a positive meaning. The thesis takes the presentation of children’s feature of primary school language teaching during the Republic of China in the solid phase (1927-1937)as research subjects, by analyzing the representative mandarin textbooks, including "Enlightened Mandarin Textbooks ","New Structures Mandarin Textbooks"," New Life Mandarin Textbook","World Bookstore Mandarin Textbooks’, in order to trying to gain useful insights about the construction of primary school language teaching.The article is divided into six parts:The first part is the introduction, which sketches the description of the essay question, analysis the current achievement of the design on this subject, and defines related concepts. By contrasting the phenomenon that the old books of the Republic become very popular when the modern language teaching materials receive the cold shoulder, the advantages of children’s feature of primary school language teaching of the Republic of China is emphasized.The second part provides an overview of the educational background of the Republic from1927to1937, resumes the Republic’s education policy, outline and education ideological background, and makes a brief summary of the organization and selection of primary school language teaching.The third part focuses on the case analysis, and dwells on the presentation of children’s feature of primary school language teaching during the Republic of China(1927-1937),containing adhering to the philosophy of child-orientation, adopting the form of children’s literature, concerning about the children’s lives and world, and stimulating children’s imagination, thus achieving the goal of founding children, attracting children, pressing children and promoting children’s development.Based on the above issues,the fourth part mainly studies the significance of children’s feature of primary school Language Teaching during the Republic of China (1927-1937).The Chinese textbooks of Primary school during the period is the important result of Chinese textbooks from getting rid of the ancient old-style private school to becoming modern gradually, which has both the traditional sense and modern appeal.The fifth part, mainly summaries the meaning and lessons that the children’s feature of primary school language teaching during the Republic of China (1927-1937) provides for the reorganization and construction of the existing primary school language teaching materials. This should process materials standing on the ground of children, focus on the children’s feature of teaching, but also pay attention to the textbook content with the daily life of children, meanwhile, should emphasize the multi-cultural fusion of the teaching material.The sixth part is the conclusion, making a brief summary of the topic. Chinese textbooks of Primary school need to be presented in a flexible manner, given full play to its role and functions, in order to perfect the systems of primary school language teaching material construction, eventually realize the strategic significance of children education for the national revival.
