The Sociology Study On Non-Marital Cohabitation Behavior Of The College Students

The people’s view of life and values change a lot because of the transformation of the society. As the pioneer of the era, college students are young and energetic; they accept the new thoughts easily. College students’ non—marital cohabitation phenomenon is long-standing, however, this phenomenon is increasing as time goes by, it has already became a hot topic in our country which are dominated by the thoughts of Confucius and Mencius. Nevertheless, why would people be fond of discussing this phenomenon? The reason is that college students’ non-marital cohabitation behavior is against traditional Chinese thoughts; moreover, the influences on college students are multiple. So, many people debate its advantages and disadvantages; its right or wrong. Actually, there are no right or wrong on it, there are both advantages and disadvantages of this behavior. Therefore, we should hold the neutral attitude towards this issue. The college students’ non-marital cohabitation behavior will be analyzed in this paper systemically by a neutral attitude.There are totally five parts in this paper. The first part is the introduction. The background, contents, methods, aims and innovativeness of the research are introduced in the first part. The second part is the theoretical study and literature review. The social control theory and symbolic interaction theory are outlined in part two. The study of literature at home and abroad could provide the theoretical basis for this paper. The third part is the research of the college students’ non—marital cohabitation behavior. The current status of college students’ non—marital cohabitation behavior is researched and studied in this part. The influences of non—marital cohabitation for college students are also analyzed in part three. As for the influences, there are both positive ones and negative ones. The fourth part is the sociology analysis of the causes of formation for the college students’ non—marital cohabitation behavior. The causes of formation for it are analyzed from two aspects,social factors and personal factors. The last part is the conclusion. We could hold a neutral attitude towards it. The college students’non-marital cohabitation behavior is not right or wrong, it is just a kind of living style which is chose by college students. College students have the right to choose the way according to their own will. They should cognize the advantages and disadvantages of non—marital cohabitation fully, thereby choosing the suitable living style for themselves.
