With the further reform and opening, people’s living standards have greatly improved, meanwhile, values and living way also have changed enormously. College students are a group who are active and extremely easy to accept new things. Due to the social environment and their own factors, many college students cohabitate. In many people’s eyes, the cohabitation of college students is a violation of ethics, but this kind of phenomenon has its own hidden social reasons, and shouldn’t be judged as a right or wrong deed. This paper tries to carry out an analysis on this phenomenon from an objective view.This phenomenon is not a fresh topic. Although a lot of people know it, it doesn’t necessarily mean they understand it. As a consequence, it has led to two extremes, the opposition view is that it is against the traditional idea of morality; the other extreme is people’s strong agreement with it. It reflects a person’s freedom of choosing his own way of living. We can’t make simple judgments to the two ideas. We must see that in life, some problems exist in the guidance of our society, schools and families. Meanwhile, as adults, college students should enjoy their rights, such as the rights of sexual behavior, the freedom to choose their own life style etc. So our society, school and family should strengthen their guidance and education for college students. Meanwhile, college students should have their rights of making their own choices.Research methods of questionnaire and interview are mainly used in this paper,294college students from Jilin Agricultural University are surveyed and interviewed, and we find that the proportion of cohabitation among these college is not high in the survey. Although contemporary college students are advanced in idea, those who cohabitate are still the minority. Overall, college students’attitude of love and marriage are healthy and reasonable. Due to the marriage and sexual lack of college students know enough to the understanding of the living together nor comprehensive, therefore, school, family and society should strengthen the related education for college students, let them a correct understanding of cohabitation, thus make the right choice.
