As education internationalization has expanded to the primary education field, highschool international class has gradually become one of the most significant reform attempts inthe internationalized development of high school education. Since the constant enforcementof technical education becomes an international trend, technical courses play an indispensablerole in senior high school international classes. Teachers are the primary implementers ofinstruction. For domestic general technology teachers, senior high school international class isa new teaching environment with international technical education ideas as the core. Facedwith this brand new teaching environment, technical teachers of international classes shouldcarry out decision-making processes such as information judgment, content selection, activityimplementation etc. while making teaching plans, carrying out instructional interaction, conducting instructional evaluation and so on. It urgently needs to be addressed whether theinstructional decision-making of technical teachers in international class has lived up to therequirements of international technical education.By literature review, the paper sorts out the development history of foreign and domesticresearch on teachers’ instructional decision-making. With Miss/Mr. Wang, a Chinesetechnical teacher of senior high school international class, and Miss/Mr. K, an Americantechnical teacher of the similar subject as the individual cases, through survey, interview andcomparative analysis, the paper comes to the conclusion that due to inadequate teachinghardware facilities, unreasonable knowledge structure of teachers and teachers’ lacking inadvanced educational ideas in China, there are significant differences between theinstructional decision-making of the Chinese technical teacher and that of the Americantechnical teacher in the case study, which mainly differ in planning decision of courseoriented and teacher oriented, interactive decision of instruction as the center and independentinquiry as the core, and evaluation decision of works oriented and projects oriented. Thesedifferences in some respects reflect the large gap between current technical teaching inChinese and American senior high schools. In order to bridge such a gap, administrative staffof schools should improve the basic facilities for technical teaching of international class assoon as possible, strengthen cooperation with the international contracting party, carry outinternational training, promote exchange and cooperation between local technical teachers andinternational technical education experts and teachers so as to ultimately realize thetransformation of teachers’ instructional decision-making through the optimization of teachers’knowledge structures and the transformation of their teaching ideas, thus making the domestic technical course for international classes in senior high school meet the overall requirementsof the international technical teaching development.
