Children with Autism are living on an isolated island, they cannot understand othersnor understood by others. There always have a gap between them and normal people,early rehabilitation education is particularly important to break barriers. Educational toolsas a stimulus items play an important role in the rehabilitation education. In China, studyon Autism cares more about physiological and psychological, less in relationshipbetween autistic children and other participants in education. And ignore the influenceabout environment and people on children in education process. In Design aspect, smallnumber of products coming out recent years, but which rarely in providing systematicstudy and solution. In this context, this paper aims to from a multi-role participationperspective, using systematic design methods to explore the needs in rehabilitation ofchildren with autism, and propose design solutions.Based on research of characteristics of autistic children and goals of rehabilitationeducation, propose the concept of participatory medium design of Autistic childreneducation from design point of view. And analyze its advantages over traditional specialeducation products and positive significance in promoting the rehabilitation educationand multi-role participation. Take Beijing and Shanghai as examples to conduct fieldresearch, through ten case studies showing the interpersonal characteristics and demandof different people in education. Analyze contradiction between characteristics of autisticchildren and rehabilitation education. By explore the real reasons behind, raised the basicprinciples of participatory medium design from a multi-role perspective, which includeprinciple of multi-role participation, multi-level interaction and community service.Combined with case study, provide5specific design methods, which will be thereference of design practice. Using the theory into design practice, further validate thetheory.The value of participatory medium are not only help autistic children interactivewith their teacher in class, but build a connection between teachers, parents and socialvolunteers. So the autistic children education is not isolated only in rehabilitation center,it established a community around the rehabilitation center involving family and socialforce as support.
