After students enter high school, they are first faced with the transformation oflearning patterns, for example, departmental teaching, deepened and widened teachingmaterials and the discontinuity of learning. So learning problems surfaced. If studentscan not adapt the different between learning and teaching materials, they are easy tobecome lazy, depressed and delayed, and some explicit behaviors may be formed, forexample, they can not complete homework smoothly and they do not have academicachievement. In recent years, research interest of educational psychology, abilityindex promulgated by Ministry of Education, course guideline and teaching task allshow that learners gradually change their role from passive acceptance to initiativeadjustment and management. So for students master of self-regulated learning skills isa very important thing.The researcher think that it is necessary to discuss therelationship between homework and the development of students’ studies from theangle of self-regulation learning.The study conducts a research on471students in Changchun, Jilin byquestionnaire survey. It analyzes the relationships between self-regulated learningstrategies of initial preparation phase, attitude on homework and academicachievement. The study shows that:1.The self-regulated learning strategies of initial preparation phase of middleschool students is in the medium level. Their motivational and emotional initialpreparation strategy is in the highest level. The use of initial preparation strategy inenvironmental field is in a relatively low level. Besides environmental field, thereexists obvious difference between the use of initial preparation strategy in other fivefields, the grade one and the grade two are better than grade three. Gender differencefor the use of initial preparation strategy are not found.2.About the middle school students’ implementation situation of Englishhomework attitude,homework perspective obtain higher score, while homeworkfeeling gets lower score in three subscales. Students in different grades have obviousattitudes on homework. According to the homework completion subscale, thesituation of grade one and grade two is better than grade three. In the homeworkperspective and homework feeling subscale, the situation of grade one is better thangrade two, grade two is better than grade three. There exists obvious differencebetween the attitude on homework in gender. Females are better than males. 3.The self-regulated learning strategies of initial preparation phase has significantpositive relationship with academic achievement. The attitude on homework hassignificant positive relationship with academic achievement.The self-regulatedlearning strategies of initial preparation phase has significant positive relationshipwith attitude on homework.4. Self-regulated learning initial preparation strategy and attitude on homeworkhave obviously predictive effect on academic achievement. The attitude on homeworkis a partly mediator between Self-regulated learning initial preparation strategy andacademic achievement.
