As an important branch of modern mathematics and the basic mathematical tool topromote the continuous development of science and technology, analytic geometry hasbecome a necessary for modern people to master and know intimately. In modernmathematics teaching, as the footstone of higher mathematics, the proportion of analyticgeometry is increased gradually in middle school classroom and the middle school studentsare required to learn the "plane analytic geometry” curriculum necessarily, which lays a goodfoundation for students to learn related content when entering colleges in future. Moreimportant, to some extent, it can cultivate the students’ mathematical thoughts, such asthinking ability, several shapes combinations thinking, etc.The using of new teaching materials produces more problems to be discussed, studiedand resolved by us. In order to resolve these problems well, educational researchers need tostudy the curriculum. To realize the significance of the curriculum, researchers have toanalyze the teaching materials from multi-angles based on the requirement of the curriculum.A comprehensive analysis of the teaching materials contains the following parts: the teachingtarget system, knowledge structure graph, mathematical thinking method contained, the coreconcept of mathematics an so on. According to above contents, the differences between thetwo versions of the teaching material are summarized by comparative analysis and then thedeep meanings of the reform are analyzed.At the same time, on the basis of analyzing the teaching material and students,educational workers should carry out the teaching design based on the above two aspects.Teaching design is also an important task which must be done by teachers before starting theteaching activities. Educational workers should make clear the following series of questions:what are the teaching design theories? How to be a good teaching design? What are the mainproblems for mathematics teachers in their teaching designs? In new mathematics course,teachers how to carry out the teaching design combined with mathematics disciplinecharacteristics?Finally, according to the requirement of new curriculum standard, teachers should impartvaluable mathematics to students. While, what is the "valuable" math? The answer to thisquestion is connecting the mathematics knowledge with students’ daily life authentically and making mathematics quality became a fundamental quality which must be possessed bycitizens. Therefore, in the teaching of plane analytic geometry, teachers should pay closeattention to combining the mathematics with students’ actual life, and focusing on itsapplicability and practicality.
