| A textbook is a tool for students to learn and an important carrier of transmitting educational knowledge. And its quality directly influences the learning quality of students. The basketball textbook from Sports and Health in junior middle school is the only book for those students to learn the knowledge of basketball, and thus whether the compilation of basketball textbook is reasonable really concerns students’ abilities of mastering and improving basketball skills, passions of loving basketball, and habits of keeping lifelong exercise. Functioned as the bridge between primary education and senior middle school education, the basketball textbook from Sports and Health in junior middle school plays a key role in developing students’ capabilities of basketball. The research on this sort of textbook, on the one hand, helps to explore rules of compiling basketball textbook for junior middle school students, providing a theoretical basis for future compilation, and rectifies, on the other hand, deviations existed in textbooks, improving the compiling quality of textbook and promoting students to learn.This research picks seven currently-used versions of basketball textbook from Sports and Health in junior middle school as the object of study, applies the research methods of documentation, content analysis and comparative analysis, and gives an analytic study of basketball textbook from Sports and Health in junior middle school. This paper analyzes basketball textual knowledge from four perspectives of attributive classification, composing factor, arrangement and presentation mode in its structure, and summarizes the study from nine perspectives of learning objective, basic knowledge, technical content, tactical content, teaching competition, training method, self-evaluation and homework in its content, and finally finds some similarities and other differences and also certain problems among those seven versions. The similarities are:the presentation of those texts is well-illustrated with pictures and accompanying words; the technical content is focus on every single skilled movement; the tactical content mainly emphasizes basic cooperation of playing basketball; the training method is multifarious and practical; the teaching competition is full of innovativeness; and the self-evaluation lays stress on the assessment of students’skills. The differences are:basketball is divided from the perspectives of its natural attribute and societal attribute in its attributive classification; in the composing factor, those versions of PEP, China University of Geosciences Press, Huazhong Normal University Press, Shandong University Press are the same, but the other three ones differ from one another; in the arrangement part, rules and skills of playing basketball, tactics and technique, learning and practice of tactics are diverse from each other; in its content, the specific content at the same study period is not identical. Moreover, some versions pay more attention to ball exercise, and for the homework, the versions of PEP and Shandong University Press emphasize the actual practice, the version of East China Normal University Press gives more written assignments and the versions of Hebei University Press, China University of Geosciences Press and Huazhong Normal University Press apply various operative methods of doing homework. And the problems are:the technique and the tactical and teaching competitions are not in a coherent way; the textbook values more on single skilled movement,but makes light of assembly technique, and its ways of expression are too brief; the ratio of male to female in illustrations is not well balanced; and the criteria for self-evaluation is too cumbersome, without any practical effect.The following suggestions are aimed at above problems found in this study:(1). Attach importance to the compilation of assembly technique.(2). Strengthen the coherence of the technique and the tactical and teaching competitions.(3). Increase more opportunities of exercising and practicing, and improve the skill ability.(4). Enhance students’acceptability, realize an excellent match of picture and words, and make written expression easy to understand and proper in details. |
