A Study On Problems And Countermeasures Of China Social Work Professionalization Development

Abstract:Social work is a professional helping activity, in safeguarding the interests of vulnerable groups, solving the social problems, maintaining social stability, it plays an important role. At present, China is in the key period of social transition, government is accelerating the transformation of its functions, the public’s demand for social services is growing, At the same time, various social contradictions highlighted, All of these need to develop social work to boost the construction of society. How to promote the development of social work professionalization, build a professional social work talent troop, has become an important project. In this paper, The author takes Zhongshan city(Guangdong Province) as an example, using literature studies, questionnaires, in-depth interviews and other methods to study the mode of social work operation, the Professionalism of social workers, the system construction of social work, development of social work agencies, the living situation of social workers, etc. In our country there are some general problems, as missing localization theory of social work, shortage of professional, low capacity, lack of social recognition, institutional system’s imperfect, inadequate institutional development of civil society work social workers compensation lower level and so on. For these problems, we can find answers from the social and cultural, social work mechanism, social work agencies, social workers and employers, social workers themselves and other aspects of the analysis. At the same time analysis of the causes of these problems, combine with our actual situation, put forth the reasonable countermeasures and suggestions to promote the social work theory localization, accelerate the talent troop construction, regulate the social work post setting, improve the social work system, promote the development of social work institutions and improve social work development mechanisms.
