The Research Of Postgraduates’Academic Atmosphere

Academic atmosphere presents a mood where academic community along with itsmembers conducts. The atmosphere of postgraduates is indicated in academicactivities such as learning, research and academic evaluation, etc. Academicatmosphere, the central point in academic development, if studied properly,contributes to solving academic problems for postgraduates, better construction foracademic atmosphere, thus cultivating high-quality talents especially forpostgraduates. The thesis based on existing conclusion of research on postgraduatesacademic atmosphere draws a view that after surveys and investigations to211-Projects key universities,517postgraduates, postgraduates academic atmospherehas problems generally, yet not in a serious way from multiple aspects. Postgraduatesacademic atmosphere problems are distinct. Problems of self-assessment are a bitsevere than those of others`assessment. Students of liberal arts show problems ofdeeper degree than those of science but the circumstance has more complicateddifferences. Besides, PhD students even embody worse problems than postgraduates.Causes that lead to those problems can be divided into three parts. Firstly, the societydoesn’t build healthy conduct standard. Moreover, the Internet brings convenience toplagiarism and the society lacks the criteria for publication markets. Secondly,campus conditions are confronted with defects in academic system, insufficienteducation on academic atmosphere and negative influence from research supervisors.Last but not least, postgraduates themselves, with the lack of moral outlook andself-discipline, cognize academic criteria in a low level and they may have theintention to speculate and put a trust in luck. As for solution, problems above could beseparately promoted as follow. First, the society could construct better environmentfor academic activities and manages public opinion to advertise and supervise thesystem. Additionally, the society should normalize the publication market. Second,the university should improve academic system and rules, input more education onacademic atmosphere and motivate graduate teachers to make well effects as guidanceand demonstration for their students. Lastly, postgraduates should strengthen their moral outlook and self-discipline. On the other hand, they should enhance the sense ofcuriosity and creativity in academic research and enrich major knowledge.
