With the development of society and the concept of pension reform, institutional pension has developed rapidly. People raised higher expectations on the agency, when their demand has increased. However, diversified services have not been consistently implemented in our country. So social work is of great significance.Based on the above thinking, the author used group work and case work methods to solve the problems of pension institutions, intending to study the role of social work and have a profound reflection.The first focus of the study is the problems of institutional pension. Many services for the elderly just stay in "full warm" level, while ignoring the individual needs of the elderly. It is unbalanced between backward management concepts and diverse service requests. In addition, professional care workers are poor quality. All these obstacles hindered the professional development of agency. The author conducted and summarized the issues by practicing.The second priority is to get involved in social work. This parts consists of group work and case work, the author designed a group activity, thus enriching the leisure life of the elderly, but also establish a harmonious interpersonal relationships. In the second part, case work that about new man was carried out, the object adapted the environment and alleviated depression mood.Finally, through professional reflection, the author analyzed the necessity of social work. On the other hand, the author made recommendations for the dilemma of social work to promote the development of institutional care and social work.
