Senior Politics is a required course which plays an irreplaceable rolein cultivating students’ world outlook, outlook on life and values. Butinfluenced by subjective and objective factors, students don’t attach greatimportance to senior Politics. Some students are not interested in Politics,and they take part in classes lacking enthusiasm, initiative and motivation,which directly affects the teaching quality of Politics.Based on the sampling survey of learning motivation of senior Politicsin Jiangsu Province, the paper can basically grasp the characteristics ofcurrent learning motivation, which indicates that there is a positivecorrelation existing between the intensity of learning motivation and theacademic achievement, and the level of learning motivation directly affectsthe learning behavior and academic achievements of students. The mainmotivation of students learning Politics is to cope with Academic ProficiencyTest and college entrance examination. They lack interest in Politics and asense of achievement, etc. All these form a basis for deep research onstudents’ learning motivation strategies.According to the theoretical research together with the teaching practice,the paper puts forward the strategies of inspiring and cultivating students’learning motivation in Politics.Firstly, it focuses on aspiration education and motivating students’sense of achievements; Secondly, it centers on students’ interest andcuriosity of learning Politics; Thirdly, it lays special emphasis oncultivating students’ self-efficiency, on the basis of which, it puts forwardthe principles of stimulating students’ learning motivation: considering theindividual differences of students, teach students according to theiraptitudes; paying attention to coordination of society, family and otherfactors; focusing on the cultivation of learning strategies.
