Mandarin industry practicing ability is the key capability for vocationaltourism students, which should be improved in order to be competent future tourismjobs. However, there are many problems in the current Mandarin teaching for studentsin vocational tourism industry practices, which makes teaching effectiveness not easy toguarantee.Survey showed that there are three main issues to be addressed urgently for tourismindustry in vocational Putonghua teaching practical ability: teaching is out of the needsfor the industry; lacking of systematic and effective teaching theoretical guidance;teaching method is relatively simple. The fundamental reason for this situation is thatthe student in vocational tourism industry practical ability Putonghua teaching is still inthe exploratory stage and the lack of relevant theory.In order to solve the above problems, the article defines the concept of practicalability for vocational tourism industry professional Mandarin and systematicallyexpounded the teaching theory, teaching objectives, teaching principles, teachingcontent and teaching strategies, initially format Putonghua teaching philosophy fordeveloping students’ practical ability combined with the students’ daily life, learning,practical training and so on. Clear the three teaching objectives for accuratepronunciation, articulate coherent, appropriate tone, expressing decent nature, naturallanguage and express fluency wonderfully; proposes teaching principles, includingcombining basic and industry, situational and participation, imitative and creative,decency and wit; systematic summaries the teaching content, firstly,employment-oriented under the tourism industry vocational students mandarin tourismindustry practice ability, including accurate pronunciation, clarity, suitable tone, listenand respond, politeness, the role of adaptation, body language, wit and smooth,secondly, select supplementary materials for students in vocational tourism industrypractical ability Putonghua; proposed teaching strategies, namely demonstrationsimitation, situational experience, grouping simulation, thinking expansion, phaseadvance and industry practices.The article also discusses the author’s school environment, displaying platform, teaching practice and exploration for students to learn Putonghua, in order to point outteaching practice and explore obtain results.
