Setback-enduring abilty refers to what each individual obtains and uses to copewith the upcoming emotional pressure and attack, to avoid posible disorders betweenpsychological and behavioral balance under certain conditions of setbacks, that is, theability of individual adaption, resistence and management of setbacks of various kinds.Ideological and ethical education in Junior High School, based on thepsychological characteristics of junior middle school students in particular, is to becarried out through a variety of methods, which aims at helping them continuously pushtheir enduring ability of setbacks to their own limits, enabling them to better copewith current and future setbacks and leading them to success for good.It is a study of great value to focus on the method of strengtherning thestudents’setback-enduring abilities in ideological and ethical education in junior middleschool.The most commonly observed types of sebacks among Junior high schoolstudents are related to academic achievements, self-esteem, communication, emotionaland physiological problems.the students’responses to setbacks are quite authentic anddirect for their age, which can be grouped into positive emotions and negative emotions,with anxiety, anger, or severe attacks, self mutilation or suicide as the escape of negativeemotions. The reason for stduents’weakened enduring abilities of setbacks lies in family,school, society and individual as well.The study of the stratgies of strengthening the students’ setback-enduring abilitiesin ideological and ethical education in junior high school can be achieved in thefollowing3ways: to cultivate a right attitude towards setbacks; to strengthen thestudents’ ability of setback-enduring by model demonstration, raised awareness, praise,Situational education, debate, collective help and other activities; to reshape a good personality.
