The project takes the status of activity break sports in all junior high schools ofZhangjiagang as subject of research, and gives the solutions to the development of theactivity break sports in all junior high schools of Zhangjiagang; there is practicalsignificance for the development of activity break sports in junior high schools ofZhangjiagang and other regions.Using the following methods: literature, questionnaire, interview, on-the-spotinvestigation, mathematics statistics and logic analysis, and taking school leaders, PEteachers and students in30junior high schools of Zhangjiagang as the investigatedsubjects, the project has the conclusions by analyzing the status of activity break sports inZhangjiagang junior high schools and by studying and summarizing the influences to thedevelopment of activity break sports in Zhangjiagang junior high schools.Zhangjiagang junior high schools implement national regulations and laws and carryout activity break sports actively. There were big differences among the schools, and76.7percent is good.90percent of the school leaders, PE and other teachers, parents andstudents have realized the importance of enhancing students’ physical health and adjustingstudents’ physical and psychological state; they all support the development of activitybreak sports deeply.There are good conditions for the development of activity break sports deeply injunior high schools of Zhangjiagang.90percent of school courts and equipments meet theprovincial standards of Jiangsu province;71percent of students love and attend varioussports of activity break actively; motivations of attending showed a trend of diversity, andboys’ and girls’ are obviously different. Junior high school PE teachers in Zhangjiaganghave many loads of works, and have less opportunity of communication and training; thecourse seems not as important as other courses, all these factors restricted the developmentof activity break sports. 93.8percent of the junior high schools in Zhangjiagang ensured all students one houractivity per day;45.8percent of the junior high schools carried out the sports of activitybreak sports during rainy days;87.5percent of the junior high schools have their ownactivity break sports unique features; chances of activity break sports showed a trend ofdiversity: boys like diamond-cutting and interesting games, and girls like lower intensiveand less confrontational games, distinguished differences. A small part of junior highschools haven’t abided by the regulations, and10percent of the schools’ PE courseshaven’t met the standards; connections between PE course and activity break is not enoughon contents and objects.The main factors which influenced the sustainable development of activity breaksports in Zhangjiagng junior high schools are the followings:16.7percent PE teachersdidn’t think the security assurance is good;46.7percent of school leaders had no rewardand punishment for the check of activity break sports;33.3percent of the schools didn’tcount it as teachers’ and students’ performance assessment, and there was no scientific andmultidimensional evaluation system; Zhangjiagang educational administrative departmentshave been inspecting and supervising the activity break sports in a long term, andpromoting schools to carry out the activity break sports continuously and deeply;60.8percent of the students thought heavy study pressure reduced the enthusiasm ofparticipation of activity break sports; others thought insufficient time and simple contentsand forms had the same effects.Taking Zhangjiagang Daxin Junior high school as sample, there is the analysis:operating activity break sports well needs the followings to assure: school leader paidmuch attention; PE teachers did something; school did good organizing, and school staffdid wide participation. The keys to raising students’ interests of activity break sports arestudents-oriented and enriching PE course connotation by synthesizing school culture andsport characteristics. Clear responsibilities and all departments’ good communications isthe guarantee mechanism of sports safety. Scientific and reasonable evaluation is thestandard for promoting the quality of activity break sports. All of the experiences are worthto spreading.The project gives the following suggestions according to the analysis to the status ofZhangjiagang junior high school activity break sports development and in allusion to therestricting factors to the development of activity break sports in junior high schools. Using many ways to propagandize, highlighting its benefits and results, andamplifying its social influence; offering chances to have awareness of the sports, andcreating a good atmosphere; trying to make school internal and external linkage, andseeking the understanding and support of society; all these improvements can promotethe development of activity break sports.Educational administrative departments should macro-control and coordinate, andshould be active to solve many practical problems like the shortage of funds, lack ofrecognition, insufficient courts and equipments; should carry out long-term investigationand assessment, besides supervising mechanism, which are in favor of sustainable anddeep development. Junior high schools should give enough respect and attention to PEteacher’s work; offer more outside study chances. PE teachers in junior high schoolsshould cherish outside study chance, and learn the PE course reform; study new ideas ofPE teaching; strengthen self sports skills; improve own teaching level; enhance scientificresearching ability, which are all good for the development of activity break sports owingto PE teachers higher comprehensive ability. Moreover, educational administrativedepartments should reinforce communication and evaluation among all junior high schoolsin Zhangjiagang, and should make junior high schools PE teachers’ overall concept andunderstanding more prominent; motivate PE teacher’s creativity and team spirit, whichcould make the quality of Zhangjiagang junior high school activity break sports moveforward greatly.Transforming educational conception is the premise for improving the quality ofactivity break sports.21stcentury is a creative century and century of talent. As a PEteacher should transform education conceptions, and change the cramming teaching way;study new things of course reform and practice them; should be student-oriented, andcreate teaching situation actively; motivate students’ interests, and guide and cultivate theirinnovating spirits; transfer passive study to active study. PE teachers should constructteaching content scientifically and create good study atmosphere and enforce its quality byutilizing the activity break sports as a good carrier. Carrying out activity break sportsshould combine science with culture. Teacher’s ideas of activity break sports should not bedogmatism; all teachers should have a scientific view on activity break sports; Schoolprincipals should put activity break sports in the whole development strategic plan of theschool and combine it with traditional culture. Each school should arrange its’ own sports according to actual situation and the needs of junior high school students’ developmentcharacteristics and ensure every student benefits form it.Sports should be easy to play, and good enough to participate; should haveindependency and flexibility and openness. Each school should have their own charactersand bright spots.Educational administrative departments and schools should set up scientific andreasonable evaluation systems, which should be fair and objective and accurate assessmentsystem, not only the standard of quantity and quality but also cultural teaching, teachingcharacteristics, bright spots as well as creative spirits, which could motivate teachers andstudents participate activity break sports actively and creatively.PE teachers should embody the educational idea of human-orientation, and do goodresearch about the regular pattern of junior high school students’ body and mental change;pay more attention to their characters of growing and sensitivity; prolong and extend thecontent and organizing forms of activity break sports. PE teachers contribute themselvesfor the sustainable development of activity break spots by being clear that one who istalented would be promoted, and working honestly and creatively, besides highlightingbright spots.
