This action research is based on the theory of cooperative learning and combines with the practice and characteristics of junior high school English teaching. It tries on the application of cooperative learning in English grammar teaching. The author selects three parallel classes in Grade Eight as the research objects. Its aim is to explore the effective model of junior high school grammar teaching in order to cultivate students’ cooperative consciousness and ability, improve the way of their learning attitude and behavior, promote students’ interest in grammar learning and enhance students’ autonomous learning ability. Thus this model can improve students’ grammar learning. The researcher uses questionnaires, interviews, diaries and lesson study to learn about the effect of cooperative learning.The author find the following results through the lesson study:Cooperative learning teaching mode is feasible and effective in English grammar teaching in junior high school. Students of different levels have a certain change both in the English learning attitude and behavior. And they also make some progress in English learning. This study makes the teachers renew their ideas and methods of grammar teaching, and it also promotes their professional knowledge and their own roles in English teaching.Finally, according to the analysis to the case of the conclusion of the study, the author put forward the following suggestions:1.Teachers should continue to train and guide the students’ cooperate learning so that they master the tactics of effective cooperative learning Thus they can enhance the effect of cooperative learning.2. Let the students become masters of the classroom and arouse their enthusiasm for learning and develop their learning wit. Teachers should improve the students’ interest and ability in learning English grammar by using cooperative learning, and improve the effect of classroom teaching greatly.3. Establish a scientific evaluation mechanism of group cooperative learning.
