Study On The Countermeasures Of University Counselors’ Responding To Emergencies In Minority Area

In recent years, as the complex domestic and international situation，China’s economic and social have changed deeply and profoundly.Schoolsystem reforming and changes of the characteristics of the student population,and the occurrence of unexpected events become more frequent incolleges,has brought great challenges for campus security and stability.At thesame time,the colleges which is in the ethnic areas need to consider morefactors in the management of emergencies universities. Counselors contactwith students in the universities,but also in the event of an emergency the firstto get the message and immediately reach the scene. So the counselor shouldimprove emergency response measure by learning coping skills collegecounselors emergencies ethnic areas, and improve the ability to handleemergencies.This paper draws on the theoretical basis of domestic and foreignuniversities and summed up a national regional university concept withcharacteristics of emergencies by questionnaire analysis, which respond toemergencies through Hohhot, Inner Mongolia ways college counselors.Thedata show that college counselors deal with emergencies is scientific andeffective.But there are some problems which needs to timely corrections.There are mainly two aspects for college counselors to handle emergencies:First, counselor’s own ability to respond to emergencies, including thespecific environment of ill-considered ethnic areas, lack of awareness ofprevention, treatment of single;Second, the counselor selection, examinationand assessment process is imperfect. We should take effective measures toimprove the capacity of their own ethnic areas college counselors to handle emergencies.At the same time the government should also strengthen nationaland regional college counselors work for safeguards.
