In recent years, the transition to primary school is a heat topic all around the world. Backto the revival of education after World War II, Japan has payed attention to school transition.In the following decades, the Japanese Government formulated loads of laws and policies,implemented coping tactics to various problems in different levels. During this process,school transition in Japan has made remarkable improvement and accumulated richexperiences and lessons, which were highly revealing to China. Therefore, analyse thefundamental sequence of transition strategies in Japan can not only enrich pedagogical andcurricular theory, but also enlighten the transition practices in recent China.This research applied literature review, comparison and case analysis methods. Based onprior results, the research compared Japanese school transition strategies in different periodsand revealed its developing sequence. Going further, reconceptualised curriculum transition,communication and resource integration, as well as analysed specific case and measures in allthose dimensions, seeking to put theory into practice and present a vivid picture of transitionstrategies in Japan.This paper showed that Japanese school transition proceed from life long learning, basedon full realization of the unique status of childhood so as nature of young children’s learning,and finally focused on the different learning characters in the two developing stages. Precisely,in terms of curriculum, kindergarten teachers should protect children’s “learning buds” inplaying, primary school teachers should promote children’s “learning conscious” indepartmental teaching, however take care children’s spontaneous interests and aspiration ofknowledge at the same time; in terms of communication, organizing group game inkindergarten and interactive activities between primary school, actualizing children’spsychology well-being during transition process; in addition, the government also providesfamily supporting, insuring the coherence of children’s living and studying environment;values teacher training, deepening teacher’s understanding of their counterpart; last but notleast, improves and perfects law system, defining practicing main points and procedures.According to the research on Japanese school transition strategy, enlightenments on Chinacould be concluded as improving law system, promoting teachers quality, planningcurriculum reasonably and integrating education resources.
