The Survival And Development Research Of Civilian-run Martial Arts In Shandong Province

80’s of last century to90years, the civilian-run of martial arts schools in Shandong province were built. The civilian-run of martial arts schools have reached a period of great prosperity in1990s. So far, there are more than300martial arts schools which have been set up successively in different places and environment in Shandong province. Those schools not only train a large number of talents with excellent martial arts for our country, but also are good for the development of China martial arts. With the development of the civilian-run of martial arts schools in Shandong province, many lurking problems began to appear which have been bad for the scale and quality of the martial arts schools in recent years.This article studies the civilian-run of martial arts schools in Shandong province by using the literature material law, questionnaire, expert interviewing, on-the-spot investigation and mathematical statistics. A survey contains martial arts’basic situation, fees, the number of students, the age structure of the students, the students’learning motivation, school education, teaching arrangement, teacher structure, facilities and student employment status. The results show that:analysis of the bottleneck of private martial art schools in Shandong province, finding out the constraints of private martial art schools:First, the educational mission is undefined. Second, the management is informal. Third, the educational funds investment is insufficient. Fourth, the facilities are insufficient. Fifth, the number of students is insecurity. Sixth, the teachers have low quality. Seventh, the curriculum is not reasonable. Eighth, the student employment cannot guarantee. Finding out reasons of these problems, giving the new perspective of planning and thoughts for those schools’development have important theoretical significance and practical value for investigating of private martial art schools.Since the Shandong martial arts schools have been built, they have trained a large number of excellent martial arts athletes and coaches. The schools not only inherit and forward the Chinese National Traditional Sports Culture but also make a significant contribution to the development and prosperity for martial arts. According to the above problems, the article suggests some advices. First, change the educational mission and management. Second, regulate the internal management. Third, improve the material conditions of the schools. Fourth, improve the quality of teacher. Fifth, advance the teaching quality and level. Sixth, adjust the content of the curriculum. Seventh, construct diversification employment system. These countermeasures can provide useful reference for the development of the civilian-run of martial arts schools in Shandong province, but also for the scholars in the future research.
