Public physical education in colleges and universities, as the link of school sports andsocial sports, undertakes the essential task of training students’ life-long sports awareness andthe habit of student’s life-long physical exercise. It is a key part to improve student’s physicalhealth and help them do some exercise consciously after graduating from school. In order tocarry out the reform of PE teaching in colleges and implement the new request with thecourse objectives in our country. The paper applies the method of questionnaire to test theobjective, which displaying public physical education situation in common colleges anduniversities in China.Public Sports Classes of common colleges are needed to set up a scientific and perfectteaching mode under the background of effectively promoting the reform of physicaleducation in universities. This paper analyzes the present performance of course objections inpublic physical education in common colleges. According to the survey, this paper designsexperiment and tests, which are implemented in the training competition plan and physicaleducation improvement course content. The double cores teaching model of“Teaching-competition” is constructed by analyzing the characteristics of teaching systemand competition system, the characteristics of curriculum objection classification and theoperation model of achieving course objections. Then, this article takes students in HubeiUniversity of Technology as the object, basketball as the case, to verify the rationality andscientific of teaching model. At the same time, the paper sets up a mode of operation indetails to offer some guidance and suggestion in the application of the model.The paper takes the theory of teaching, school sports study, sports psychology, sportscourse, logic as the foundation, applying the analogy, deduction, induction, analysis and otherresearch methods to verify this topic. The method of combining quantitative and qualitativeanalysis is also adopted to analyze the experiment result, so as to judge the effect of teachingmethods and its curriculum setting.Based on system theory,"Teaching-Competition" dual core teaching model putsphysical course objects into three kinds of physical education curriculum teaching, accordingto the advantages and disadvantages of sports classroom teaching, ex-curricular sports activities and sports competitions, which promote them to work independently and cooperatewith each other. This kind of teaching model creates a force to promote students to carry onthe sports, it has changed the model, which used to rely on physical education to completephysical education curriculum task.
