Visualizing Analysis On American Educational Administration Since21ST Century

Based on the5journals from SSCI, using the visualizing and statistic tools——Bibexcel, Citespace Ⅲ, Spssl8.0and Pajek, we collected3492articles from2000to2013and make the analysis on co-word, author co-citation and document co-citation. To find the hot topics, scholarly group and research front of American educational administration since21st, we draw the relative mapping knowledge and analyze the data of co-word, geographical distribution of high yielding authors and their relations, co-authorship, author co-citation and its MDS mapping, and document co-citation research front.Through the analysis of co-word, we can divide the hot topics of American educational administration into3categories, including the main categories, education policies and their implementation, and social justice and leadership. The key words of education policies include educational policy, educational politics, educational reform, federal policy, etc.; the key words of education policies implementation include student achievement, no child left behind, distributed leadership, charter school, school choice, teacher professional development and higher education, etc.; the key words of the last category include leadership and social justice. In the new century, the researches of American educational administration focus on education policies and their influences. These researches also propose many theoretical and practical advices to policy decision. While they analyze the effect of educational implementation, they would also consider education equality and excellence.From the analysis of the authors, we can find the high yielding authors of American educational administration research distribute in Eastern and Western coast mainly, while the authors in Midland and West have dispersive distribution although they are not isolated from each other. While the cooperation of educational administration researchers between Eastern and Western coast is quite close, the Midland is another scene that either the quantity of high yielding authors or the cooperation with other districts is less that the coastal area, which results in a relatively isolated district. Through further research, the scholarly groups distributes depressively in co-author mapping knowledge that we can not distinguish the groups specifically. Therefore, we use all author co-citation, cluster analysis, factor analysis and MDS to divide the scholarly groups into5, whose research areas include the relation of education and society, macro educational policy, the impact of behavior psychology on school development, teacher quality and its influence on students’achievement, etc. Among the5groups,3of them have close relations, whose research interests mainly is the effect of leadership on students’ achievement, while the other2groups’research area lies in behavior impact and the relationship of education and society.After the analysis of document co-citation, the analysis of burst documents and their second time search, we conclude the research front of American educational administration on several topics, like the impact of leadership to student achievement, female character in educational administration, the relation of school and society, and distributed leadership.
