ObjectiveThis study investigated the rearing patterns of Chinese college studentssituation,social support situation and college students’ mental health situation,carryingon research from two important influencing factors of parental rearing styles andsocial support,preliminary understanding the situation of college students’rearingstyles,social support and college students mental health,analyse the influence ofcollege students rearing styles and social support on college students’ mental health.Trying to explore new ways and new mode of college students’mental healtheducation, combined with changes in the modern era of social influence on collegestudents’ mental.Acts according to the situation, students’ideological education workcan receive the due effect.MethodsThis study is based on extensive research and adopt college students scale,socialsupport scale and SCL-90to investigate the mental health of college students.Theresults of questionnaire were interred into computer with Epidata3.0, data wasanalyzed by SPSS17.0statistics software.Adopting independent sample T test, singlefactor analysis of variance, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis todiscusses the relationship between college students’ educational methods,socialsupport and mental health.Results1The symptoms of study object at a higher level of mental health, SCL-90scores in somatization, hostility, forced symptoms, interpersonal relationship, terror,paranoid, depression, anxiety, psychoticism were higher than the national adult norm.2Different characteristics of the mental health of college students in gender,grade, months living expenses, whether the one-child differences have statisticalsignificance(P<0.05).3Different characteristics of college students in grade, and the family live, monthly cost of living, whether the one-child, whether parents divorced, parents’educational level, occupational difference was statistically significant (P <0.05).4Different characteristics of the social support of college students in grade,monthly cost of living on the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05).5Dimensions of social support(objective support, subjective support, supportutilization degree) and total scores of social support and mental health of each factorhave significantly negative correlation; Parenting rearing styles、every factor ofmental health and total mental health have significant correlation.6Parental rearing styles and the all dimensions of social support have asignificant prediction influence on mental health.ConclusionCollege students’ mental health level is lower than the national average level;college students of different demographic characteristics have significant differenceson mental health,rearing styles and social support; rearing styles, social support andmental health were significantly negative correlation; rearing styles and alldimensions of social support both have a significant prediction influence on mentalhealth.
