The Study Of Influence Of Neglected Parental Rearing Style On Students’ Mental Health And Countermeasures

Studies have shown that the total points and the average scores of neglected parental rearing children are the highest in the Mental Health Test(MHT)and the Symptom Check List 90(SCL-90).That means their mental health is the worst between the four parenting styles.The neglected parental rearing children need more love and care than the others.In real life,their tendency of mental health problems is obvious.Because of their parents’ low compatibility and the teacher’s limited energy,the teachers often pay less attention to them.That leads them to be neglected again at school.It’s a vicious circle.Taking a public primary school in Chang’an Town,Dongguan City as an example,three representative pupils were selected to carry out an empirical research to solve the problem.Through constant observation and analysis of their behavior in the classroom,between classes and at home,we summarize that the children with neglected family upbringing have the common characteristics of longing for attention,sensitivity,inferiority and extreme impulse in the aspect of mental health,which is the concrete embodiment of the influence of neglected family upbringing on students’ mental health.The key point of its operation mechanism lies in the students’ understanding and evaluation of the neglected family upbringing.Therefore,in order to solve the mental health problems of children with neglected family upbringing,the key is to adjust their understanding and evaluation of the neglecting family style.On the basis of combining with its operating mechanism and analyzing the causes from the four aspects of individuals,families,schools and society,we use the professional methods and skills of social work to set out to change the wrong cognition,promote self-efficacy as the main line,to carry out the "case counseling +home-school cooperation" pattern to follow strategy.The encouraging effect validates the feasibility and effectiveness of the service strategy,and further suggests that "there is a general lack of care for children raised in neglected families,and the situation can be improved if appropriate care is given to them." The research hypothesis is provided with case studies.At last,based on the practical experience of personalized service strategy,the author puts forward several feasible suggestions for parents,schools and administrative departments from the perspective of social work.
