Counterexample occupies a special position in mathematics and the new curriculumstandards also put forward some requirements for it. In the senior high schoolentrance examination and university entrance examination often inspect the studentability about using the counter example. The author through to the part in xining citymiddle school counterexample usage of the investigation,we can obtain the followingconclusions: Firstly, most of the teachers know the concept of counterexample, whatthey don’t know is the type of counterexample. Moreover, their ability to constructthe counterexamples are still need to be improved.Secondly, the teacher can obtaincounterexamples from the teaching materials, teaching reference books,extracurricular books, communicate with colleagues, network resources, and his ownexperience Thirdly, most of the teachers often interspersed counterexample in theclassroom teaching to help the students to understand the teaching content, and thereason of not using any counterexample is "positive example is enough, no need touse counterexample". Fourthly, the counterexample is restricted in teaching, mainlybecause of the abstraction and counterexample teaching content is difficult andstudent’s thinking, understanding ability is limited. At the same time, according to thesurvey result gives related suggestions on teaching, and introduces the actual caseusing the counterexample on teaching, provides several methods of constructingcounterexamples, aims to help teachers use it in teaching to achieve better teachingeffect.
