| The rapid progress of network technology and the gradual maturity of educational testing methods have a great impact on the pattern of subject education. An increasing number of people choose to detect their levels of learning on certain subject through online practice and testing systems. They hope the systems can assess their real performance and give pertinent learning suggestions, which could benefit their individual development and improvement on the subject. However, most system developers fail to manage survey and demand analysis carefully and use little scientific educational theory to support the establishment of the systems. As a result, many current online English practice systems, which are designed for teachers and students in senior high school, could not perfectly assist and promote English teaching and learning due to lacking of excellent interactivity and diagnostic function. Therefore, supportive theories for the establishment of Senior English Diagnostic Practice System(SEDPS) are discussed in this paper from three perspectives.Several relevant definitions and theoretical methods applied in this paper are expounded at first. Next, in order to acknowledge current situation of English teaching in provincial-level demonstrative senior high school and the teachers and students’ attitude towards online practice system, a survey on students in a provincial-level demonstrative senior high school and an interview with their English teachers are both conducted. The results and findings are summarized and analyzed as well. Then the main modules of SEDPS are designed on the basis of the demands and expectations proposed by the teachers and students. Finally, a senior English knowledge system, which can be utilized for the assignment of the item bank of SEDPS, is built through a series of scientific verification experiments. And the paper describes the process of the establishment of the knowledge system in detail. In order to reflect the application value of the knowledge system, a new paper-generating pattern which can recommend similar practices and tests for SEDPS users is designed and proposed.The paper systematically analyzes the demands for online practice system of English teachers and students in provicial-level demonstrative senior high school, preliminarily designs the main function modules of SEDPS, and eventually establishes a knowledge system named Senior English Knowledge System Based on SEDPS. Therefore, The paper provides a firm theoretical foundation for the future development and implementation of SEDPS. |
