Demand Analysis And System Design Of Mental Health Service In Yunnan Normal University

The education of School psychological health is developing towards "service mode",which is taking student as the objects of mental health service and provide them with professional and flexible mental health service based on their needs.The demands of students of Yunnan Normal University on mental health service and the difficulties in the current system of psychological health service were investigated.This study intends to explore the improvement measures through studying and comparing the mental health service model of other schools,and build a new mental health service system of Yunnan Normal University.The research includes three parts.The first part is the analysis of students 'mental health service needs in Yunnan Normal University,which is consist of the investigation and analysis of students' mental health service demands and interview analysis.Study 1 surveyed and analyzed the requirements of students' mental health service through self-designed questionnaire on Students' Mental Health Service Demands of Yunnan Normal University.The results showed that:(1)Students of Yunnan Normal University had a high demand for school mental health service,and had a low understanding in school mental health center and existing mental health service;(2)Students thought that the frequency of mental health service was carried out lower at present,especially should increase the frequency of psychological counseling and mental health professional training;(3)A good confidentiality,positive interaction and targeted face-to-face service were demanded to help student solve their own stage of development;(4)schools should pay more attention to the construction of a positive atmosphere both class and dormitories,because class atmosphere and dormitory atmosphere will directly affect students' mental health status and needs.Study 2 investigated the needs of mental health services of students through interviews.By sorting out the data based on grounded theory,it was found that the demands of students in Yunnan Normal University for mental health services were:(1)professional service needs;(2)service attraction needs;(3)emotional service needs;(4)psychological crisis prevention needs;(5)psychological problem prevention needs;(6)guidance needs for developmental problems;(7)normalized demand for services;(8)home-school communication needs.Among them,the core is the demand for professional services,and students have the highest demand for the number of professional mental health service personnel.The second part analyzed the difficulties of the present mental health service system of Yunnan Normal University.The field of psychological center staff,college psychological work in charge of the leadership and counselors,members and class committee were deeply interviewed.On the base of tidying materials at all levels by grounded theory,found that the current difficulties of mental health service system of Yunnan Normal University were:(1)the specialized team and development system is not perfect;(2)the support of leadership and policy is insufficient;(3)deficiency professional level of psychological services;(4)the cooperation mechanism between infirmary and schools is not sound;(5)the emergency response system has not been established;(6)insufficient external development and cooperation;(7)the communication mechanism between the center and the college is unsound;(8)the early warning mechanism is not sound;(9)insufficient construction of mental health atmosphere;(10)insufficient investment in specialized scientific research;(11)insufficient information management;(12)the system of psychological committee members and psychological assistants is unsound.One of the core difficulties is the professional team training and development system is not perfect,the support of leadership and policy is not enough.According to the analysis of the difficulties,the breakthrough points for the improvements of the mental health service system of Yunnan Normal University are as follows :(1)train and guarantee the number of professionals;(2)open cooperation channels between the center and other departments and sections;(3)strengthen foreign cooperation and exchanges.The third part,under the base of the previous-mentioned three parts,attempts to design the mental health service system of Yunnan Normal University.The new system includes four parts,the first section is transforming the school psychological center functions and roles,including(1)establish school psychological center talent reserve station;(2)take charge of school mental health services;(3)strengthen foreign development and cooperation.The second section is to accelerate the information management of school mental health service,including(1)design psychological website;(2)design WeChat official account of school psychology center.In the third section,a department psychological service station is established to provide daily mental health services for students,including the introduction of the working modes of the college psychological service station and the universityinfirmary psychological service station.The fourth section is establishing emergency department.
