Independent collage is a new mode of school-running,which is also an important part ofhigh-school education.After more than ten years of development,independent collages havehad their own teachers groups,but many of the teachers feel low professional value,loseresponsibility,and are eager for quick success and instant benefit.What’s more, staff turnovertends to be very serious.The phenomena are closely connected with the situation of teachers’professional identity.However,academic research on teachers’ professional identity inindependent collage are rare. This research selects teachers as samples who are from a typicalindependent collage in Jiangxi province. It conducted questionnaire and interviewing surveysto analyze the current problems of professional identity.Result shows that the over level ofteachers’ professional identity are not high and there are many difference in teachers’professional identity among individuals. After detailed analysis of these data,author alsoprobes into the possible causes.In view of the present situation of teachers’professional identity in independence collage,the author thinks that the influencing factors can be as follow:1.uncorrected professionalvalues among teachers.2.The good knowledge of the importance of academy conflicted withthe indifference to scientific research.3.Teachers lack of professional security and sense ofbelonging.4. Teachers of independent college lack of personal feelings of achievement andthere is limited space for career development.At last,based on the problems and influencing factors, it put forwards the solutions tothe problems from four aspects:1.Teachers themselves play a key role.2.School plays a basicrole.3.Government plays a supportive role.4.Society plays a helpful role.Low level of teachers’ professional identity can lead to many problems in teachers’career development.Under the great-changing background of independent collage,researcheson it can promote construction of teaching faculty.Also, it is helpful for teachers,school,andsociety to adjust to the changing situation in education.
