Cultivating Excellent Engineers Project issued by Ministry of Education means we have to havestrict requirements for colleae engineering teachers. Under this circumstance, the job stress statusengineering teachers are undertaking should arouse university administrators’ attention. Theengineering teachers’ job stress and job satisfaction status, influence factor and the relationshipbetween each other are attempted to study in this paper. The data is from the survey of AcademicProfession Transformation-----Mainland China, the paper uses descriptive analysis, ANOVA,Kruskal-Waillis test, correlation analysis, regression analysis to analyse by SPSS.The study results showed that college engineering teachers’ job stress is higher than teachers ofother disciplines in our country, and college engineering teachers’ job satisfaction is lower thanteachers of other disciplines in our country, and there is a strong correlation between each other. Themain influencing factors of engineering teachers’ job stress are salary, professional ranks, teachinghours per week, working hours per week and the balance between teaching and research. Professionalranks, working time are negatively related to engineering teachers’ job stress. Low-and medium-income engineering teachers have higher job stess. Engineering teachers who consider that teachingand research cannot match well have higher job stress. The main influencing factors of engineeringteachers’ job satisfaction are gender, democratic management atmosphere, job performance, age andworking hours per week. In terms of gender, male teachers have higher job satisfaction than femaleteachers; in terms of ages, the old engineering teachers have higher job satisfaction, age are positivelyrelated to job satisfaction basically; engineering teachers working in college that more focus ondomestic management and job performance in administration have higher job satisfaction;engineering teachers who work more time per week have higher job satisfaction.Basing on the conclusion done in this paper, some suggestions are proposed: matching teachingand research well, offering a good environment, emphasizing the open, transpatent reasonableperformance assessment and democracratic university administration culture.
