As an important part of the university’s faculty, college counselors take the mostfrequently contact with students as well as wide influence to them. Therefore, it is veryimportant to promote their comprehensive quality and working state so as to improvethe quality of university talent training. In the economic-and-social-transformationperiod, the high education system and daily management has changed a lot,the dualidentity(teachers and cadres) and complexity as well as the particularity of practicalwork put higher requirements for the occupation of college counselors. With theincreasing of working pressure, college counselors’ job satisfaction decreased graduallyand job burnout is becoming much more serious, which will definitely affect the collegecounselors’ daily work, and become a bottleneck against the cultivation of collegestudents’ quality.This paper summarizes the theory of working stress, job satisfaction, job burnoutand related model, proposed the corresponding research hypothesis by extensiveliterature review. The author take research of college counselors’ working stress, jobsatisfaction, job burnout in Zhongshan city by means of questionnaire. A total of160questionnaires has been sent out, of which128are valid, the effective recovery rate is80%, use the empirical methods to test the reliability and validity of the scale, andverify the factor structure of self-working pressure scale, investigate the structure andstatus of college counselors’working stress, job satisfaction, job burnout of ZhongshanCity at present, discuss the influence of demographic variables on them, analysis theconstruct and relation among the three models, and then propose the stress managementstrategies by two aspects of the school and individuals. Based on the results of this study,here are some conclusions:(1) College counselors’working pressure is formed by working security, workingload, career development in three dimensions in Zhongshan city.(2) The working stress, job satisfaction, job burnout of college counselors inZhongshan City are various in sex, marriage, age, education, employment status,working title, age, etc. (3) As college counselors in Zhongshan city, the working stress and job satisfactionhas significant negative correlation, working stress and job burnout was significantlypositively related. Working pressure and the dimension of working security, workingload predicted job satisfaction and job burnout significantly.
