Studies On College Basketball Spiritual Culture

Research objectives: On the basis of basketball sports, this paper, through document collection, integration, analysis, study, and defining relevant definitions, aims to analyze the internal denotation of the basketball sports in Chinese universities, explore its functions in order to provide reference for establishing basketball sports culture feasible for Chinese higher education,Research methodology: The methodology in this paper includes document searching, logical analysis, case analysis and questionnaire survey approaches to study the basic representation formations and the philosophical characteristics in Chinese university basketball culture.Research results: The establishment of the basketball spiritual culture in Chinese universities should include the following aspects: enhancing university publicity in media, arousing sports activity; holding basketball matches to improve awareness in mutual help; enriching our university basketball sports systems to safeguard scientific systems; innovating the theses of the basketball courses to direct the curriculum reform; inherit our basketball cultural tradition to build cultural atmosphere.Research conclusion: 1 The essence of the spiritual culture in Chinese university basketball can be expressed like this: the integration of objective existential entity relative to our university basketball equipments, having special meaning and contents, being based on basketball teaching, extra-curricular basketball activities, basketball matches, basketball organizations and the publicity of sports media, with educational, incentive, helpful, stable, advanced and social functions, also all kinds of basketball theories which university students and PE teachers have produced or will produce in their basketball sports. 2 The material carriers of our university basketball spiritual culture are rich: as the survey demonstrated, the spiritual quality of our university basketball teacher and the teaching method in our university basketball played an important role to the spreading of our basketball spiritual culture; the ratio of students willing to participate in the extracurricular basketball activities is low, their major aim in this activity being to strengthen their bodies; basketball matches inside and outside universities, university basketball teams and basketball knowledge contests all have impacts on the spreading of basketball spiritual culture; the media spreading forms such as basketball matches organized by universities and basketball post bars both played an important roles to the spreading of basketball spiritual culture. 3 As the case analyses showed, the functions of Chinese university basketball spiritual culture are rich, which include education, incentive, assistance, advance, stability and entertainment. 4 University media publicity can be used to incent students’ zeal in sports, basketball matches can be held to improve students’ mutual assistance, also well developed university basketball systems to provide system insurance, innovating basketball courses to direct curricular reform, inheriting the tradition of our basketball culture to make cultural atmosphere etc are all to build our university spiritual culture.
