Research On The Development Of Academic Degree System

Degree system was gradually established along with the development of university. Promoting the development of higher education, it provides quality assurance to higher education. Now, with the acceleration of globalization, it has become a global problem for countries to innovate academic degree system to meet the change of higher education.The modern higher education of China started later than the western developed countries. That is one of the reasons why China’s higher education is far behind the western developed country. In addition, as the product of higher education, what problems exist in China’s academic degree system compared with developed countries’ ? How to improve the academic degree system of China? How does China’s academic degree system contribute to the reform of the higher education of China? These questions are worth to research further.Therefore, Research on the Development of Academic Degree System is selected as the topic of this essay. The essay uses literature research method and historical research method to elaborate the emergence and development of the degree system, and compares the western developed countries and our country current degree system by using the method of comparative analysis. Through the comparative analysis, the paper will explore the problems in China’s degree system and finally give suggestion for improvement in the academic degree system.Through analysis, this paper draws three conclusions. Firstly, the degree system is an important factor of higher education. Therefore, the perfection of degree system will greatly promote the development of higher education. Secondly, the development of China’s higher education requires the degree system to improve constantly. Thirdly, some problems still exist in the degree system of our country, we should actively learn from western countries to gain useful experience.This paper also puts forward a new viewpoint that the education of professional degree can learn from the training mode of Corporate University. Corporate University provides education and training to the employees of the enterprise. Nowadays, Corporate University can not only train staff, but also it can grant degrees to the educated, even a doctorate degree. Whether the colleges run by the enterprise belongs to the higher education or not has not been decided, but one thing is for sure, that the education of Corporate University is more vocational. The education of professional degree also focuses on vocation. In this sense, the two things are similar. Furthermore, Corporate University of the United States has achieved great success, and its education mode is worth to be explored. Therefore, this paper boldly puts forward the view that the education of professional degree can learn from the training mode of Corporate University.
