Objectives:The purpose of this study was to study the enhancement effect of different exercise load on Sanda athletes’upper limb explosiveness in different rest time period, which is what we call "postactivation potentiation". We measure upper limbs’mechnics index during the bench press practice of different intensity in different rest time. So that we can give suggestions of proper load and time of upper limb explosive power training as well as warm-up before the game.Methods:24 male Sanda athletes of national secondary level (age: 19.5±0.8 yrs, height:1.75±0.03 m). They were divided into 3 groups: the experimental group A (90%1RM), the experimental group B (60%lRM) and the control group C (no resistence training). After the warm-up session, all subjects did the upper-limb Chongquan test on the BTE. Then group A and B went on their 90%1RM and 60%1RM bent presses and everyone did the Chongquan test again after the training in 4mins,8mins,12mins and 16mins. We use the repeated measures analysis of variance to analyze the effective time period of postactivation potentiation, and MANOVA to find out the best training intensity. Statistical significance was set at p <.05.Results:90%1RM training strenghthen the right upper limb after 4 mins and the left upper limb after 8 mins.60%1RM exersice didn’t have obvious effect on right side but did help strenghthening the left side after 12 mins. In these three different training loads, the 90%1RM had apparent influence on left upper limb, while both 90%1RM and 60%1RM exersices had similar effects on the right side. Conclusions:As for the dominant hand, hard intensity training may resulted in postactivation potentiation after 4 mins, and the moderate or low training loads may activate it, but we cannot confirm the activation degree. As for the weak side, high loads training may cause postactivation potentiation after 8 mins and moderate or low intensity can activate it after 12 mins. But the high intensity can strenghthen the potentiation continually while we cannot make sure the effect of moderate and low intensity.
