The reform of high school curriculum is the key point of the basic education curriculum reform in China,from 2003 to 2007, about 15 provinces autonomous and regions have become the new curriculum reform experimental unit,which means about 50% of the total national high school.Although high school curriculum reform has impressive achievements in a short time,the present situation of our high school curriculum reform implementation is anxious,university entrance exam is affect on the senior high school so much that it is difficult to adapt to the international curriculum reform,the international education development,and the demand for the talent of political and economic development of our society.By the influence of traditional branch and exam-oriented education,students tend to one-sided development,lack of personality,schools,teachers and parents pursuit one-sided graduation rates,so the key to solve the problem of students’ knowledge differentiation is how to make students get reasonable knowledge and ability in each domain,so as to be a “whole”person.Liberal education aims to make students in all fields of system development,teach students how to think about knowledge,experience,the ability to face all kinds of challenges in our daily life.Though the analysis of the connota tion of liberal education,training objectives,curriculum setting,the article enlighten the high school curriculum setting in our country.This text is divided in to four chapters:first part is put forward the necessity of high school curriculum reform in o ur country.The second chapter is about the core concept of liberal education,interpreting the basic theory of liberal education,the connotation,training objectives and curriculum setting.The third part elaborated the present situation of high school curric ulum setting and characteristics,at the same time,analyze the problems arising from the implementation process.The fourth part,though the idea of liberal education and curriculum setting,the author summed up three points of curriculum setting in our country:first is to set multidisciplinary curriculum widely.Second is to find the best combination for general education and vocational education.Three is to ensure the effective implementation of high school art curriculum in our country.The full text mainly adopts literature analysis method,history method to collating materials of C hinese and foreign countries representative literature review.In the second part,introducing liberal education course setting,all the research results are reflected in my literature review.
