English writing is always the key point and the most difficult part for English learners, especially for the beginners. The junior high school students are just contacting writing with little skills. While the teacher overstates the traditional interpretation way and pays little attention to students’ writing interest and conception, which eventually leads to students losing interests in writing. The teacher needs to get rid of the bondage of traditional education and explores suitable teaching approach which can arouse learners’ writing interest and develop their comprehensive skills. The former researchers mainly use the experiential learning in English teaching, few in English writing. This paper emphasizes the effects of students’ prior experience and direct or indirect experiences by using the experiential learning in writing process to construct knowledge.Based on the experiential learning theory, this thesis performs a study on junior high school English writing. The research questions of the paper are listed as follows:1. Could the experiential learning theory arouse students’ writing interest?2. Compared with control class, could the experiential learning method improve students’ English writing scores?The method of this research is empirical method. From No.1 middle school in Emin, two classes of Grade 3 are selected. Each class has 30 students. One class is selected as experimental class, and the other class is collected as control class. The teacher uses the traditional method in control class, and the teacher adopts experimental learning in experimental class. This experiment lasts for three months. This thesis adopts questionnaire, tests and interview.The final results show the class atmosphere becomes more active, and students writing interests have improved. At the same time, students’ expression ability is also improved. This can make up for the shortcomings of traditional approach, and significantly benefit other aspects of English learning.
