Research On The Problems And Countermeasures Of The Current Cultivation Of Undergraduates’ Consciousness Of The Rule Of Law

China is currently being in its new phrase of promoting law-based governance in all respects, striking to build a socialist legal system with Chinese characteristics and to form a socialist country under the rule of law. Consciousness of the rule of law, as the inner soul and spiritual backbone of such a country of laws, is a kind of advanced awareness that all the citizens of a democratic country should possess. Meanwhile, undergraduates, the main body of the young, bear the hope and future of our party, state and the whole people, thus being the subject that various forces fight for. History has proved that the one who wins the young wins the hope; the one who wins the young wins the future. Therefore, actively carrying out the college students’ awareness of the rule of law culture in the overall development of college students and comprehensively promoting the rule of law have important theoretical and practical significance.This thesis studies the existing problems in the contemporary undergraduates’ law consciousness and the correspondent countermeasures by sequentially answering the questions of "what", "why" and "how". In this thesis, the scientific connotation of the education of law awareness for undergraduates and its value are firstly illustrated, and then the major problems and reasons in such education are profoundly analyzed as well as the countermeasures related. This thesis can be divided into three parts as follows,Chapter 1:The scientific connotation and necessity of the cultivation of law consciousness for undergraduates. This chapter firstly introduces such concepts as the rule of law, legal consciousness and law consciousness whereby the structures and features of law consciousness are analyzed. Its differences from and relation with other similar concepts are clarified and also the concept and target of the cultivation of law consciousness for undergraduates are progressively demonstrated. Then on the basis, the necessity of such education for undergraduates is elaborated from four dimensions, namely, undergraduates’development in all aspects, the achievement of the goals of the ideological and political education, the needs of administration according to the law for colleges and the requirements to govern the state under the rule of law. This chapter is to answer the question of "what".Chapter 2:The major problems and reasons in the cultivation of law consciousness for undergraduates. In this chapter, through the questionnaire research and interview research, it is pointed out that the major problems in the education for the contemporary undergraduates’consciousness of the rule of law are as follows:the result of such education is not good; such education is not sufficiently prepared, obsolescent in content and simple in form; the evaluation system is hysteric and the atmosphere for the rule of law at college is not so intense. After that, the main reasons for those problems mentioned above are discussed from four angles including undergraduates’cognition, the college’s education, the family’s environment for the rule of law and the social environment for the rule of law. This chapter is to answer the question of "why"Chapter 3:The countermeasures of the cultivation of law consciousness for undergraduates. In this chapter, based on what has stated in the former two chapters, a series of countermeasures are put forward from the following five aspects:to fully comprehend the value of the cultivation of the consciousness of the rule of law, to properly arrange courses for the cultivation of the consciousness of the rule of law, to vigorously develop the way of conducting the cultivation of the consciousness of the rule of law, to build a sound evaluation system for the cultivation of the consciousness of the rule of law and to practically enforce the construction of the cultivation of the consciousness of the rule of law. This chapter is to answer the question of "how".
