Research On Fostering The Consciousness Of The Rule Of Law Among Undergraduates

At present,China has entered a new age---the "fully advancing the law-based governance of the country" age.The socialist legal system with Chinese characteristics has been formed and nomocracy construction and reform of the judicial system is steadily moving forward.The campaigns to promote legal knowledge,which is mainly designed for national legal construction has launched a new chapter.Undergraduates,whose consciousness of rule of law play an important part in the Chinese future progress of law,shoulder the historic tasks of accomplishing legal construction comprehensively and achieving the rejuvenation of China.Under the promotion of government and universities,fostering the undergraduates' consciousness of rule of law has showed some effects,but there are still some shortcomings.We should take Marxism's rule of law,Marxism theory about all-round development of human beings and socialism nomocracy theory with Chinese characteristics for guidance,clarify the concept and the necessity,summarize the achievement based on the practical situation of universities,gain insight into the problem,figure out the reasons and put forward feasible plans to improve the legal consciousness cultivation work of college students based on the Chinese practical situation and beneficial experiences from foreign counties.This paper includs five parts.The first part introduces the background,aim and meaning of fostering the undergraduates' consciousness of rule of law.It also reviews the relative research conditions at home and abroad,illustrates the contents,methods and innovations.The second part defines the related conceptions,puts forward the theoretical basis of the research.The third part sum up the characteristics of undergraduates,summerizes the achievements according to investigation data,efforts accomplished by some universities,the condition of undergraduates' consciousness of rule of law,courses and platforms set up in universities and legal university construction and so on.From shortcomings in college students themselves,the ideas of educators,the support conditions and cultivation environment,the reasons behind can be dug out,including the lack of emphasis,the monotonous of the contents and methods,the mechanism far from perfect,the unfinished scientific system and unfulfilled environment construction.According to the foundations in the preceding parts of the text,the fourth part comes up with the strategy to improve the legal consciousness cultivation work of college students,and it describes and analyses the strategy from four aspects---deepen cognition,stick to principles,clarify meanings and optimize approaches.The fifth part is a summary of the whole thesis,which is generalization and summarization of the whole thesis.
