Gender education popularizes around the 1990s in Chinese colleges and universities. After 20 years’hard working, many universities have hosted a lot of relevant lecture, activities, and research program. Many colleges and universities have established many research organizations, offered different courses about gender education. At the same time, some universities have compiled and published many essays, teaching materials and monographs. In our country’s education system, there are no systematic courses of gender education. College and University students have no former experience in their work and marriage experience. They have to face work gender role orientation in real social division of labor. They gain family and marriage experience from their daily lives. They trust the gender consciousness propagated from Mass Media. They naturally accustom themselves to enjoying the cultural phenomenon in our names.All of these contributed to develop and solidify our gender consciousness. Before we accept the gender education, we hardly think about why it appears like this, why we have so stereotypes gender impression, why we encounter gender inequality issues in our growth, why we insist that the "gender equality" is the basic national policy. As beneficiaries of gender education, we first know the difference about biological sex and gender after we receive gender education. We also know how to rational response to handle the relations between the gender equity and other events. In the meantime, we deeply considers that carrying out gender education in colleges and universities is certainly beneficial for the growth of students, and the harmonious development of both sexes for the entire development of human civilization.Through the analysis of gender education in colleges and universities, this research attempts to clarify the basic situation, reflect on relevant problems and causes of in colleges and universities, thus we can explore the direction and path of the gender education for further development. Furthermore, we appeal more colleges and universities to carry out gender education which is close to the students’ needs, and really helps students form a correct gender view. Through this way, gender studies in colleges and universities can get to a higher level, and more people may support and participate in gender education in colleges and universities. This paper is mainly divided into five parts to conduct the research. The first part:introduction. This part is the basis of the study. It mainly introduces the background, purpose and significance, concepts, literature review, etc. The second part clarifies the current situation and achievements of the gender education in colleges and universities on the basis of years of development. The third part clarifies the pushing hands which identify the development of gender education in colleges and universities based on the former two parts. The fourth part, based on the collection of the relevant literature and the investigation of gender education practice, discusses the existing problems of gender education, and concludes the causes of the problems. The fifth part is not only the strategy part, but also the final purpose including:paying attention to the establishment of students’ awareness of gender equality, opening more gender education courses, strengthening the construction of gender education organizations in colleges and universities and the enlightenment and reference gained from foreign countries and Taiwan area.
